MARINETTE
Fucking Adrien.

Of course he invited Kagami.
He always had to be the nice guy.

So nice, but so goddamn clueless.

It's funny actually, Kagami and I could straight out say we fight over him and he would assume it's his "friendship" we are fighting over.

Sometimes I just want to punch him, but his photographers would be mad at me.

I don't like when photographers are mad at me.

Don't ask.

"Mom, why would you say that?" I whisper-yell to my mother as she dresses the sandwiches.

"I know you don't like her Marinette, but fighting is not good for the soul. Be kind," she replies.

"Oh my god," I smack my forehead and angrily talk back to the table.

"So "best friend", what else does your family sell here?" Kagami asks, adding a smirk.

"If you so much as even look at me again you will not like the results," I bitch-slap her with my eyes.

"Why? You don't want to be my friend, Marinette?" she teases, smiling with teeth.

Almost with the end of her sentence, I stomp on her foot but her facial expression doesn't change.

"Nothing gets through Doc Martens," Kagami winks, making my heart flutter.

Why did my heart just flutter?

I scoff. "Whatever."

I watched Kagami the rest of lunch.

Something felt....different. Like something had changed. She never teased me before.

And I wouldn't say I hated it.

-:-

Lunch wasn't....awful.

It wasn't great either.

Kagami sat there and bragged about her and Adrien's new fencing equipment and blah blah blah.

Boring shit.

But one thing caught my eye.

Kagami wasn't being as flirting as she usually was.

She wasn't laughing at his god awful jokes and didn't dragher finger up and down his arm.

They just had a normal conversation, which was weird.

But I'm not totally complaining, that means she might be losing feelings for Adrien and I get him all to myself.

"Pssst," I whisper in Adrien's ear from the seat behind him.

Adrien turns around with a big smile.

"Marinette," he just replies.

"What are you doing after school today?" I ask, wanting a reason to spend time with him.

"Fencing lessons, why?" he whispers, a usually keeping his gaze in front of him.

Ugh. Stupid fencing.

Better if I go, that way Kagami can't win this time.

"Can I come watch? I find it interesting," I lie.

He raises his eyebrows.
"Sure?"

I nod in victory. "Okay, I'll see you there. 4 o'clock."

•••

The time reads 4:04.

I casually strut into the giant gymnasium and sit on an open stand of bleachers.

First thing I notice is a red-coated person absolutely fighting for their life with their opponent.

Almost impressed, I watch the two match and eventually the red one wins.

With that, they remove their masks to reveal two familiar people.

There stands Kagami with her foot on Adriens stomach and the sword to his throat.

Hot.

I internally gasp at myself.

What the hell is wrong with me lately?

Adrien gets off the floor and walks towards me, and Kagami follows him.

"The first thing you saw today was me lose. But not for too long," Adrien giggles, nudging Kagami. She giggles back, blushing at him.

A wave of jealously goes through my body, but not a familiar kind.

My eyes stick to Kagami as her cheeks fade from pink back to her natural skin tone and her lips parts as she talks to Adrien.

Why am I looking at Kagami and not Adrien?
