3. Gone

There was some kind of explosion that swept us off the wall. We were hanging on the sides of the wall when I first saw him. The colossal titan. I never thought I'd be able to see him. He's so... big. I was so focused on him that I never saw Eren jump into action and try to get close to the thing. I followed him up until we were on the wall again. I watched Eren as he tried to get on top of him. Just then his arm raised up and it was heading straight towards me.

" y/n!! Get out of the way!" I heard Eren shout at me.

I used my ODM gear to get out of the way just in time for the colossal titan's hand to swat me away. It took me a moment to realize he wasn't trying to kill me, he was trying to take out the cannons. Wait... this thing has intelligence? There's no way this is happening. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't notice that Eren got closer to it. He was about to hit its weak spot, but the thing emitted some type of smoke from its body. I couldn't see Eren or the titan anymore. As soon as the smoke cleared out, the titan was gone. Eren landed on the wall, looking confused about what just happened.

"Eren! Are you ok?" I said, worried about him.

"I'm fine," he said. "Thanks for worrying about me."

My face turned red again. "Oh! Haha... it's nothing. Thanks for warning me, you know, about the titan."

"No problem," he said, smiling. "Also sorry I didn't get to take him down. He just randomly disappeared."

"Hey, look at us. We were too scared to move." Connie said.

"Hey cadets!" someone said. "We need you to get down there and help with evacuation! If you got close to the damn thing we need details!"

"Sir!" everyone answered.

I was so focused on Eren that I didn't notice that the colossal titan kicked another hole in the wall. Why is this happening? I was supposed to go on a date with Eren today. These titans are ruining it.

We were at the headquarters in Trost District. We were preparing to go out and fight the titans so that the people had enough time to evacuate. I watched as Eren tried to get Armin back in the right state of mind. He was freaking out, saying things like; "We're all gonna die," or "It's the end." And honestly, I was starting to believe him.

Before I knew it, we were out on the battlefield. Waiting for death to come our way. I was on a different squad than Eren. I was with Connie, Ymir, Krista, and a bunch of others I didn't know the names of. We seemed to be doing fine, and we haven't run into any titans.

After a while we came across Armin. If I remember correctly, he was on the same squad as Eren. But he was alone, neither Eren or the rest of the squad was with him. He seemed like he was going crazy. Not any different from earlier I guess.

"Armin!" I said, grabbing his shoulders and shaking him. "Where's Eren?"

He looked up into my eyes like something bad just happened. "He... and the others..."

"What happened?!" I shouted at him. No... I already know what happened just by the look in his eyes..

"Y/n... I'm sorry, Eren and the others couldn't make it." he said, looking hurt.

I let go of his shoulders and looked at the ground, tears running down my face. Next thing I know I'm screaming my head off. I don't know what came over me. I was on my hands and knees, just screaming and sobbing.

"Y/n..." Krista said.

Krista, let's give her some space." Ymir said as she and Krista moved to a different rooftop.

"He was a good person," Connie said. "We'll leave you be. Stay safe, and don't get eaten on us."

Armin left too, and it was just me there. I watched as the clouds filled the sky, and it turned grey. Then, it started raining. I just layed there in the rain, raising my hand up, as if trying to touch the sky. Sooner or later I decided to get up and find everyone else.
