I Can't Lose You [Eren Yeager x Reader]

19. Annie Leonhart

I had to rewrite this chapter because I totally forgot about the fight between Annie and Eren in Stohess. The chapter was originally named "Utgard Castle." I skipped that fight and went straight to where Eren and the others found out that Wall Rose was "compromised." I only realized I skipped it when Pastor Nick first showed up. (When Hange was introducing him to Levi, Armin, Mikasa and Eren.) When they said that Pastor Nick knew something about the titans in the walls, I had totally forgotten that the characters in my fanfic didn't know there were titans in the wall yet. So it took me forever to rewrite this chapter. Sorry for the long talk lol.

Eren and I met up with Mikasa and Armin later that day.

"What have you guys been up to?" I asked them.

"Well, we had to have our ODM gear checked," Armin said. "They're trying to find out who killed the titans that were captured."

"Did they already find out who did it?" Eren asked,

"No, not yet. But... they have an idea on who it might be." Mikasa said.

"Who?" I asked.

Armin hesitated for a moment. He then looked at Eren and I and said, "Annie."

"Annie?" I asked. "Really?"

"Yeah," Armin replied. "We're coming up with a plan now to see if it actually is her, and if she's the female titan."

"But... how could it be her?" Eren asked.

"Well, there was that time during the mission," Armin said. "I had my hood on, and she came up to me... as if she was looking for someone... later we found out she was after you Eren. But what confused me... is that she didn't kill me."

"Not to mention she looks like Annie." Mikasa said.

I thought about what Mikasa and Armin just said. Could Annie really be the female titan?

"Anyways, Commander Erwin came up with a plan to try to capture Annie," Armin said. "Are you two willing to take part in it?"

Eren and I looked at each other. "If it means finding out who the real traitor is, then we're in." Eren said.

Mikasa, Eren and I waited for Armin and Annie to come. The plan is to get Annie to think that the military is going to kill Eren, and that we need the help from a trusted MP to get to the other side of the wall to get evidence to prove Eren's innocence. But in reality, we're going to lure her into the underground so she won't be able to transform, and it'll be easier to capture her.

"Hey guys," Armin said. "I brought Annie with us."

I smiled at her, "Long time no see."

Annie just looked away, "Yeah."

"It's good to see you again," I said.

"Enough," Mikasa said. "We're running out of time."

"Right, sorry," I replied.

We walked through a deserted town to the underground tunnel. The town was actually evacuated, and soldiers who were dressed as civilians hid in plain sight just in case the plan went wrong.

When we got to the entrance way of the tunnel, Annie stopped. Armin, Mikasa, Eren and I continued to walk a bit down the stairs and Eren said, "What's wrong? You afraid of the dark or something?"

Annie avoided eye contact. "So what if I am."

Eren looked kind of annoyed. "C'mon we don't have time for this! Prove you're on our side and get down here!"
