I Can't Lose You [Eren Yeager x Reader]

21. Wall Rose

I sat on a bench next to Eren’s bed.  He was peacefully asleep, part of me wanted to wake him to make sure he’s okay.  The other part of me wanted to just leave him alone.
   
Jean, Mikasa, and Armin were also in the room.  The rest of our comrades were somewhere in Wall Rose.

The door suddenly opened, and there was a soldier in the doorway.  “Ackerman, Kirstein, and Arlert, you’re up next.”

They were being interrogated about what happened in Stohess.  I had already gone earlier.

As they all walked out Mikasa said, “Say hi to Eren for me when he wakes up.”

I smiled at her and said, “Of course.”
She then walked out, closing the door behind her.  I walked over to the window and looked outside.  The window was open, so the wind blew in.  My hair flowed in the wind, along with the curtains on the side.

“Are you having your main character moment?” I looked behind me and saw Eren, sitting up in his bed.

I sat down next to him and lazily said, “I guess so.”

“You look sleepy, you should get some rest.”  Eren said.

“I’m fine,”  I replied.  Truth is, I haven’t gotten any rest at all these past few days.  I guess I was too busy worrying about Eren, that I didn’t bother to care for myself.  I looked like a wreck, my hair was messy, I had bags under my eyes, and I was still wearing the same clothes from the day Annie was captured.

“Are you sure?”  Eren asked, putting his hand on mine.

“Yea,”  I replied, smiling weakly at him.

Eren pulled me closer to him, and held me in his arms.  “Y/n, please just get some rest.  Stop worrying about me.”
I leaned my head on his collarbone and replied, “Eren, I promise I’m fine.”
   
“Y/n,”  Eren pleaded.
   
I finally gave in and closed my eyes.  Eren rested his head on mine and said, “Thank you, Y/n.”
   
When I woke up, the curtains from the window were blowing on my face.  I looked at Eren who was still sound asleep.
   
I got up to close the window when Armin burst into the room, waking Eren up.
   
“Armin!  You scared me!”  Eren said.
   
“Sorry, but there’s something more important I need to tell you,”  Armin replied.
   
“What is it?”  I asked.
   
“They broke through Wall Rose… the titans, they’re in!”  Armin shouted.
   
I widened my eyes.  How could they have gotten in?  This isn't happening…
   
   
We immediately got dressed in our gear.  I was still very tired, I hadn’t managed to get that much sleep.  I only slept for about half an hour.
   
“Y/n,”  Eren said, grabbing my shoulders.  “Promise you’ll get some sleep after this?”
   
“I promise,”  I said, smiling.
   
“Good,”  Eren said.  “Come on.”
   
Eren and I ran outside, and we saw lots of soldiers getting ready.
   
“Eren, Y/n!”
   
Eren looked over at one of the wagons and saw Mikasa and Armin in one of them.  We climbed on the wagon and sat down next to them.
   
“Hey guys,”  Eren said.  “How’ve you been?”
   
“We’re good,”  Mikasa said.  “What about you though?  Glad to finally see you awake.”
   
“I’m fine, thanks.”  Eren said.
   
“What about you Y/n?”  Armin asked me.
   
“I’m ok.  I managed to get some rest earlier.”  I replied.
   
“That’s good,”  Mikasa said.  “You weren’t looking too good earlier.”
   
“I know,”  Eren said.  “But I made her get some rest before this whole thing happened.”
   
I laid my head on Eren’s shoulder as I listened to them talk.
   
“I’m sure you guys have heard about the titan they found in the wall,”  Armin said.
   
“Yeah,”  Eren replied.  “I wasn’t able to actually see the thing though.”
   
“Well, what if all of the walls were entirely made up of titans?”  Armin said.
   
“What?”  Mikasa said.  “You really think so?”
   
“Yeah,”  Armin replied.  “What if the titans are in the same kind of stuff Annie’s trapped herself in?”
   
At this point I’m pretty sure anything is possible.  I mean… first Eren has hidden titan powers, so does Annie… and then I find out she’s a traitor.  Now Armin is saying that there are titans in the walls.  What’s next??  Are the armored and the colossal titan one of our comrades too?
