16. Gone (Part 2)

Oml srry, I had no idea what to name this chapter. I'm pretty sure you all know why I'm naming it Gone Part 2. Also, I don't remember how the fight between Eren and the female titan went, so I won't describe the fight scene that much.

"Eren, please don't die on me," I muttered.

I watched as Eren roared before trying to hit the female titan.

Suddenly, someone landed next to me and Captain Levi on the branch.

"What's the situation?" Commander Erwin asked.

"... My squad was wiped out by that female titan. Y/n and Eren were the only survivors." Captain Levi said. I had no idea what he was feeling. Was he feeling sad? Why does he look so calm when most of his squad was wiped out?

"I see..." Commander Erwin replied.

"Right now Eren is trying to take it down," Captain Levi said.

"Should we help him or...?" I asked.

"No," Commander Erwin said. "Let's see how Eren does. If he's in any trouble, we'll have to intervene."

Just then we heard a loud roar. I looked in Eren's direction and saw him sitting on the ground. His head was facing down, leaving his nape wide open. The female titan then bit his nape.

What...? What's happening? I watched as the titan bit Eren out of his titan body. Did Eren just get eaten?

"No..." I muttered. "This is all a dream, it's not happening." No... he's still alive. I know it. I can feel it. "We have to save him."

"What?" Captain Levi said. "Did you not see him get eaten? Or are you just blind?"

"I believe he's alive as well," Commander Erwin said.

I looked at Commander Erwin. "You do?"

"Of course," he replied. "Don't give up on him so easily."

I smiled and said, "Right."

"So what? Are we gonna go get the brat now?" Captain Levi said.

"Yes," Commander Erwin said. "I'd like you and Y/n to get Eren back. After all, it didn't swallow him. Correct?"

"Yeah," I said.

"So find a way to get it's mouth open, and try not to die." Commander Erwin said.

"Sir!" Captain Levi and I said.

"Damn, how are we gonna get Eren out?" I asked.

"Who knows?" Captain Levi replied. "We might not be able to get him out at all."

"Hey!" I shouted. I was tempted to hit him. "Don't say that!"

"I'm just stating a possibility," Captain Levi said.

"Yeah but..." I said.

Captain Levi sighed and said, "Let's just get Eren back."

I looked at him, nodded, and said, "Right."

So, I'm gonna skip the whole part where they got Eren back. I'm sure you all know what happened. Just pretend Mikasa is Y/n instead. If you don't know what happened, here's a short summary.
Levi basically cut up the female titan and managed to cut her mouth open. So Mikasa (or Y/n) took the opportunity to get Eren out of her mouth.

I held Eren in my arms. We were on the branch. I looked down at him, he looked so lifeless. This isn't the first time this happened though. I can't believe I almost lost Eren... twice.

"Y/n, we gotta go," Captain Levi said.
"The female titan retreated, but we don't know if it'll be back."

"So... if I recall correctly... the female titan is actually a titan shifter? Like Eren?" I asked.

"That's what Erwin said," Captain Levi replied.

"Has he figured out who it is?" I asked.

"No, I don't think so."

"Y/n?" A voice said.

I looked down at Eren and saw him waking up. "Eren! Are you ok?"

Eren sat up and said, "I'm fine."

"What happened to the titan?" he asked.

"They got away," Captain Levi replied.

"They're a titan shifter," I said. "Like you are."

"I guess Commander Erwin already figured that out huh?" Eren said to Captain Levi.

"Yeah," Captain Levi said. "We forgot to tell you about Sawney and Bean."

"Who?" I asked.

"Sawney and Bean," Captain Levi said. "Those are the names of the titans we captured. They were killed by that mystery soldier."

"They were killed?" Eren said.

"Yeah," Captain Levi said. "Did you not hear me the first time? Are you deaf or something?"

"Wait," I said, interrupting their conversation. "Is this "mystery soldier" the same one who can transform into that female titan?"

"Yea, obviously," Captain Levi replied.

"So that's why Commander Erwin had that crazy plan," Eren said. "He must've known there was a traitor among us."

"I wish he would've told us about it though," I said.

"Me too," Eren mumbled.

"Well what's done is done," Captain Levi. "We better get going."

"Right," Eren and I said.

When I looked back at the female titan as we were flying through the air, I widened my eyes at what I saw. She was... crying? There were tears running down her face. She just sat there, leaning against the tree. I didn't know titans could have emotions.
