Chapter Thirty Seven.

Today was the fateful day of my announcement on what we were going to do about Clayton; I decided to wear black even though Ben wore the brightest clothes in his wardrobe. I was deciding the fate of someone today and I felt it was only appropriate to wear dark colors, I was still uncertain about my decision. Ben assured me that whatever I decided would be a great punishment but I wasn’t so sure.

Ben grabbed my hand as we walked, I wasn’t completely sure of my decision yet but I’m sure that I would figure it out when I got on stage. Ben squeezed my hand reassuringly; I knew that no matter what decision I made that Ben was behind me no matter what. But I was scared of making the wrong choice; I was scared of being wrong because it wouldn’t just affect me. It would affect Ben too.

Ben stopped me before we went into the meeting hall and looked me deep in the eyes, his emerald eyes were striking and wonderful. “You’ll do great in there, just focus on why we are here. This part of the past needs to be left behind so we can start new again,” he moved a stray lock of my hair behind my ear. “I love you no matter what, you know that right?”

“I love you too, so much.”

“So whatever you say in there, whatever you decide to do this is your choice and I will be behind you one-hundred percent,” Ben said, he kissed my cheek and then dragged me into the meeting hall. I smiled and relished in the feel of Ben, I love that he reassured me and was always so supportive. We went on the stage and there standing in shackles and held by guards stood Clayton. Gage and Ruckus were on stage and my rogues were in the front row, they kept shooting hateful looks towards Clayton.

“Ben, I’m scared,” I whispered so only he could hear me.

“I swear that no matter what, everything will be okay. Just trust me; I’ll be by your side the whole time.” Ben tugged my hand up the stairs and I followed him, we made it to the center and Ben went straight to the podium but I lingered in the back and kept shooting glances at Clayton.

“Welcome everyone! I know you are all here to hear the sentence of the man who kidnapped our Luna, please do not interrupt your Luna when she speaks. What she says goes,” Ben said and then paused. “Clayton, you are sentenced with treason and murder in the first degree. Your sentence will be told by the person most affected, anything you would like to say in defense of these accusations?” Ben had turned to look at Clayton with hatred in his eyes. I suspected this whole thing to be a bit animalistic, but it was more civil. Sort of like human court in a way but a little more liberal.

“These words are for your whore of a Luna, Amith! Amith, my love. You are lucky your Alpha stopped me from what I really wanted to do with you. I would have had you screaming for mercy and no matter what I would have never stopped, and then you would have borne my child. Our child would have taken over all supernatural’s and ruled the world and once it realized how weak you were it would have stripped you of your skin and hung it up to dry.” Clayton looked at me with crazed blue eyes, and I was reminded of the black eyed baby that laughed at me while I was being attacked.

“Stay out of my head!” I shouted angrily, Clayton gave me a crazed smile and I took a step back. He can’t hurt me, he can’t hurt me, he can’t hurt me, he can’t―

“You know it’s so easy for me slip into your subconscious, you have no walls. You’re a weak pathetic excuse of a Luna. I’m sure you enjoyed the dream I mean, I almost had you screaming for mercy. Didn’t I? And once you saw your Alpha as a pelt you looked like you were going to die, you might want to protect your mental walls. I thought I taught you better than that!” Clayton snarled, he fought against the guards to get to me and I felt weak.
