Chapter Twenty.

We drove for a while and it was nice to be just alone with Ben, it wasn’t an awkward silence but after a while I turned on the radio and hummed along to it.

“Where are we going?” I asked for about the fifth time, Ben laughed at my impatience and then grabbed my hand in his keeping the other hand on the wheel.

“It’s a surprise, I don’t want to ruin it for you” Ben replied, I sighed and looked out the window. It was dark outside and the woods were passing quickly by us, for a second I thought I saw someone running with the car. But it was quickly gone, must have been my imagination.

“I’m not very fond of surprises” I muttered under my breath, I saw the smile form on his face but I chose to ignore.

“You’ll love it, I promise. We’ll be there in a few minutes” he said to me, I changed the radio station but couldn’t find a song I liked and just changed it to the classical station. “You like classical?”

“No, but there was no good music on the radio” I replied back, listening to the melody of the piano.

“I really need to get you a phone or an iPod” he muttered under his breath, I smiled but continued to listen to the melody. I didn’t realize that I was letting myself flow with it until I looked to Ben who was multitasking between staring at me and driving.

“What?” I asked him curiously, he looked back at the road quickly and I swear I saw a little color appear in his cheeks.

“We’re here” he announced, changing the subject. I looked in front of me to find a gorgeous little restaurant. It was lit up by Christmas lights and had a homey but elegant feel to it. Ben walked over to my car door and opened it for me, taking my hand he led me into the restaurant and we stopped in front of the podium.

“Alpha, we have your reservations ready” the man behind the podium said, grabbing two menus he led us past everyone and all the way to the back until we walked out a door. It was gorgeous, it was a small pavilion and the roof and walls were covered in lights. There was a table and two chairs in the center of it and light music was playing in the back ground. Ben was being ridiculously perfect; he pulled out my chair for me and then ordered us champagne. He told me he knew exactly what I would like and ordered for me and then asked me questions.

“Favorite color?” Ben asked me as we waited on our food.

“The blackness of your wolf, I loved that color even before I knew you” I replied back, he was holding my hand and caressing my thumb lightly. “What’s yours?” I asked him.

“The color of my parents’ house, that real light blue. I’ve been meaning to repaint it but I can’t find the right color and I don’t want to change it” he responded honestly, I smiled at him. I was going to find that paint color, so we could repaint it and move in to it sooner.

“It’s a very beautiful color” I said, the waitress brought us our food and I smiled at her, she had been very sweet and didn’t once say anything about my scars.

Ben was right; I loved the food he chose for me. It was a pasta dish with cheese and a bunch of different seafood’s. It was amazing and I loved it so much I was thinking of ways to make it at home. After dinner Ben asked me to dance with him, which I happily obliged and then we were ballroom dancing to soft music.
