"So Sam and I have actually been talking about a podcast. As if there aren't already a million other true crime podcasts out there but we would have the finest FBI agents come on from time to time to talk about their thoughts and emotions of certain cases." Melanie explained.
Sam and Melanie had decided to take a visit to the BAU and talk to the team of an idea they had. It was already no brainer that the team wanted to be involved in any way that they could. With the group text that they had, they had briefed the BAU members before then.
"What is it with kids and podcasts these days? I wrote various different books about cases I've worked on." David stated.
"Papa Rossi." Melanie started off. "Podcasts make people feel like theyre part of a conversation. Everything is off the script and all we gotta do is relay the information. It's almost like a condensed version of reading."
David sighed, shaking his head. "The youth today has given up on reading."
"Except Spencer." Luke chimed.
The room chuckled except for Spencer who had shook his head. "Podcasts and audio books have nothing against actual books where you can read. It's easier for the brain to retain information."
Melanie patted Spencer's back. "Oh Spence. It's like what Rupaul said: Reading is fundamental."
Penelope had looked around the table with nothing but a smile on her face. "I am loving this time right now. But two days without a case, it feels weird."
Another reason why Sam and Melanie felt like it was the perfect time fo them to take a visit. Spencer had told her that the cases started to slow down a bit and that it had been nothing but paperwork. It was a bit weird, Melanie had to agree but at the same token, Spencer had been coming home at a normal and decent hour.
"It feels like we could be doing some of this waiting at home." Luke said, shrugging.
"Very true. But we are all still on the clock and have to be ready when a case does come in." Emily reminded.
"Guys, I feel like this is gonna be the hot seat." Matt said, pointing his thumb over at Spencer.
"Yeah, you do know he's been banned from every casino in Vegas right?" JJ told him.
Melanie looked over at Spencer. "What the hell did you do in Vegas to get banned?" It was unbelievable to her: hearing Spencer being banned from something.
Spencer was about to speak up until Emily beat him to the bunch. "He counts cards." A smirk on her face appeared as she took a drink from her coffee cup.
"With a deck of 52 cards, the number of combinations is a factorial of 52. You simple need to calculate your outs and then your implied odds. Math is the basis of all card games." Spencer explained.
Everyone looked at Spencer with either amazement or confusion - but mostly what the hell was he even talking about. All Melanie could do was blink a couple of times.
"And this is the man I'm meant to marry in a couple of days." Melanie said shaking her head.
"Is there a probability of making me an auntie after you guys get married?" Penelope asked, grinning.
With that question alone made everyone else grin as well as they looked over at the engaged couple.
"Time can only tell." Melanie answered. The dark haired girl leaned over and gave her fiancé a kiss on the cheek.
"Alright, alright. Let's leave these crazy kids alone and start off the game." David said. "Today's game's 5 card. Roll them out. The big blind is 50. The baby is 25."
