Melanie spent most of her night at the bar talking to Spencer. She asked him about his teaching job while he asked her about what pieces she was currently working on.

"You have to come to one of my classes before you leave. I'd love to have you there." Spencer offered.

Melanie smiled and nodded her head. "Absolutely. I'd love to see Dr. Spencer Reid up on the podium talking to a group of college students about quantum physics or whatever it is you talk about. I'll be on my best behavior."

Spencer let a laugh slip through his lips. Just as he was about to speak up, Matt walked up to them - or well, towards Melanie really.

"Hey. Sorry to interrupt but Mellie can I borrow you for a sec?" Matt asked.

Melanie nodded. She told Spencer she'd be back before Matt had led her over to the bar where he had ordered the both of them beers.

"I never got a chance to ask...what happened with Barnes?" Matt questioned.

Melanie took the beer from the bartender before taking a drink out of it. Her finger tips drummed against the glass.

"Well first off, she also invited Sam for a nice chat." She started off saying. She paused briefly to let out a soft sigh as glanced over at him. "She doesn't want Sam and I working on cases with you guys. I guess she's not very pleased since we're not agents. She basically said if we inserted ourselves into anymore cases that consequences will be made."

Matt swore under his breath in aggravation. He shook his head at Melanie's statement and took a drink.

"That's bullshit," he stated. "You guys helped us. I mean, you and Sam really pulled through for Spencer."

"Yeah, and I think that's the trigger." Melanie said. "She brought up how involved we were in that case. I don't know. I don't mind nor care backing off from the BAU cases. As long as I stay out of prison cause I feel like she could throw me in it for being a vigilante or some shit."

Matt chuckled softly. "You haven't put anyone in prison on your own terms so I think you'll be fine. We'll figure something out." The male gave her a small rub on her back for comfort an support. "Listen, I don't want to take too much of your time with Reid. I just wanted to check up on you."

Melanie smiled at him before clinking her drink with his. "You're the best. I appreciate it." She made her way back to Spencer who had his eyebrows raised up at her which made her do the same thing in return. "Why you giving me a weird look?"

Spencer shrugged his shoulders. "I was just wondering what you and Simmons were talking about. You said nothing was happening between the two of you so..."

"Because nothing is, my darling Spencer. I told him that-" Melanie paused briefly. She had just remembered she never told Spencer or the team about her meeting with Barnes. She hated lying to him and she really didn't want to start now but now wasn't the time to discuss it. "-that I've been thinking about moving back to D.C. It's my second home you know? He's been helping me trying to figure it out. I needed someone with an unbiased opinion of what I should be doing."

With the crap she gave Spencer about lying to her when they were together, she felt quite bad lying to him. But luckily for her, the agent didn't give her a look where he could tell when she's lying and she wanted to sigh in relief.

"Understandable. I know if you talked to Luke, Sam, or even Penelope they would want you to come back asap." Spencer told her. "But also I would say if you came back, you could come to my classes to make fun of me."

Melanie let out a laugh. "You're absolutely right. I could do that too. That actually sounds like a convincing argument for me to stay."

Spencer chuckled softly. "I really hope it does."
