Staying with Rossi while JJ had to step out to walk around with her husband Will was only a little frustrating for Melanie. The man was impatient about knowing where Prentiss was and the girl couldn't quite blame him. But at the same time, she knew that the older man had to stay off his feet - though there really was no stopping him. He was a bit stubborn after all.

"David, I really don't think you're well enough to be walking." Melanie stated. She was facing the wall with her arms folded over her chest as the man was changing back into his clothes. A few minutes ago, Tara had woken up from surgery and the team had to regroup to talk about how to get Emily back.  "You literally just came out of surgery almost two hours ago."

All the man could do was chuckle at her remark which made the journalist sigh softly.

"At least let me get the nurse. Or crutches. Or even a wheelchair." She added. Once again, Rossi let out a chuckle before tapping the girl on the shoulder. She turned around to face him and he placed his hands on the sides of her face.

"You worry too much. You're gonna get wrinkles and gray hair and between you and me, you're a bit too young for that." He told her. "You're the one that needs to get some rest yourself."

Melanie sighed softly and nodded her head. She knew Rossi was right. It's not like she was part of the case or anything. But she also knew what it was like being taken by Scratch and it wasn't fun whatsoever. She could only hope that he wasn't putting her in tremendous torture.

"Alright, I'll ask Penelope to come pick me up. She said I could stay with her for the time being." Melanie said.

"Good. Let us do the solving." Rossi said before giving the girl a hug.

After the two said their goodbyes, Melanie had called Penelope to come and pick her up. While making her way out of Rossi's room and down the hall, she decided to send Sam a quick text to tell him that she was in town for the next couple of days. But as she was typing out her text message, she had bumped into somebody.

More like...someone

"Oh god, I'm sorry." She apologized quickly. When there wasn't any reaction or response from the other person, she looked up and saw the least person she wanted to see or even communicate with. "Oh...Spencer."

"Of course Im not saying that! You being happy and excited for me is the reason why I took this job. Knowing you'd have my back meant the world to me." She paused for a second to let a sigh escape her lips. "Spence, we can't keep doing this. I can't keep doing this. We have this same fight over and over again and I'm exhausted. I just...I don't think we're cut out for this."

Spencer couldn't help but to stare at his girlfriend, or possibly soon to be ex-girlfriend. The words that came out of her mouth...he couldn't believe it.

"What do you mean we're not cut out for this, Mellie? We've gone through so much together. Even prison couldn't set us apart. I get it. It's hard that we're both literally living on the opposite sides of the country but...a fight shouldn't be the reason why we end things." Spencer said. His face became soft. The thought of them breaking up was something that never crossed his mind - regardless of how often they have been fighting since Melanie made the move.

Melanie sighed and ran her fingers through her fingers. She couldn't help but to agree with Spencer. But she also wasn't sure how they could make this work in the long run.

"Spence...this is completely impractical. You know this. I know you do. We're trying so hard to make this work and we both know it's not going to." Melanie took a forward  and took a hold of Spencer's hands. "You know I want to be with you more than anything but our lives are both so different now. Neither of us are gonna back down from our jobs. And I just...could never ask you to leave the BAU for me."
