Meira had skipped school for the day, since she was still feeling depressed after talking about her father so much. A few of the kids had asked her about her father during her classes, so she just didn't have the energy to deal with it again. She had decided to spend the day writing songs and playing her guitar, since she knew Bella was going to be at school all day and Charlie would be at work.
Laying back against the wall, she held her guitar in her lap and began to strum random notes as she waited for lyrics to come to her mind. Closing her eyes for a moment, she allowed herself to clear her mind and calm herself. She slowly strummed the chords to a new song, and eventually she had written an entire song for her father. Once the lyrics were written down and so were the chords, she began to sing the song and strum her guitar.
When she had finished singing the song, she heard a knock on the front door. Her eyebrows furrowed, knowing nobody would be knocking unless they knew she was home. She wondered who could be at the door, since most people were in school or at work at this time of day. Sighing, she stood from her bed, placed her guitar on its stand, and headed to the front door. When she opened it, she was surprised to see Jasper standing outside of the door.
Jasper had heard her singing outside, since she had been so loud. She normally didn't sing so loud or with her door open, but since nobody was home, she decided to leave her door open and sing as loud as her heart desired. Jasper could hear the pain in her voice, which made him feel upset for Meira. Meira didn't deserve to be in so much pain, but he understood pain, so he hoped she would talk to him and eventually let him help her cope with her pain.
"Rosalie told me you weren't at school when she arrived. I waited until after history to come by, so I could get whatever homework Mr. Smith gives to us." Jasper said, and Meira smiled.
"Would you like to come in?" Meira asked, causing Jasper to nod.
"Mr. Smith didn't give us any homework," He commented, as he stepped through the door,"How are you feeling?" He asked, making him sigh.
"I'm fine, Jasper. I was just a bit overwhelmed by all of the people yesterday. Too many people were asking about my dad, and I couldn't take anymore explaining for a while. Bella said she'd collect my homework, so I wasn't really missing out on much." Meira said, and Jasper frowned.
"I'm sorry that people are so inconsiderate of your feelings. I hope people leave you alone tomorrow, if you're going." Jasper replied, causing Meira to sigh.
"If it gets any worse, I might have to get Charlie to sign me up for online classes. I can't keep feeling like this because of the kids at school." Meira commented, making Jasper shake his head.
"I'll see what I can do, Meira. Don't quit regular school just yet." He answered, and she smiled.
"Would you like to come up to my room? I'm writing music right now." She offered, causing him to nod.
Meira stood to her feet and grasped Jasper's cold hand in hers. She led him up to her room and allowed him to sit in the chair near her bed.
"How many songs have you written?" He asked, and she grinned.
"I've got notebooks full of songs. I've actually almost filled this notebook up. I need to pick up some more this weekend when I head to Aberdeen." Meira replied, as she handed a notebook full of songs to Jasper.
"Are you bringing anyone with you to Aberdeen?" He asked, while looking through the notebook and reading the lyrics.
"No, I didn't plan on it. Bella's hanging out with her friends this weekend, since she knew I was planning my trip. She didn't want to intrude, though I really didn't feel like she would be." Meira said, as she grabbed her guitar once again and sat down on her bed.
"Do you want someone to go with you? I can get Rose to--" He began, but Meira cut him off before he could finish his sentence.
"Would you like to go with me?" Meira asked, looking over at him,"It's going to be cloudy, possibly raining, but the conditions aren't too bad. Plus, Charlie would feel better if I brought someone with me." She commented, and Jasper nodded.
"Yes, I can go. I'll have to tell my family first, but I'll go with you. When are you leaving?" He asked, as she smiled at him.
"I'll be leaving during lunch Friday. I'm booking a hotel room Friday morning before I leave for school, just to make sure we have somewhere to stay while we're there." She said, strumming her guitar once again.
Jasper wasn't sure how to feel about going with her, but he knew she was going to be really emotional and she needed someone to be there for her. He knew the girl didn't like asking for help, but she was going to need it rather she wanted to admit it or not. Jasper planned to hunt Friday morning and meet Meira in the school parking lot by lunch time.
Jasper knew that Alice would see his decision, so he knew he didn't have to inform his family. They wanted him to have a friend, even if she was human. Meira was a nice person to Jasper, so he wanted to be nice to her as well. Besides, the Cullens knew Bella was important to their family, and since Meira is important to Bella, she was going to be important to their family as well. She was just more important now that she was Jasper's friend. From what Alice had seen in her vision, Meira might end up as Jasper's best friend in the future...

A/N: I hope you guys liked this chapter. The song she was singing is in the media. I've decided Meira's voice is going to sound like a mix of Avril Lavigne and Pink. Also, I'll be using mostly women's songs for her when she's writing or singing her music that she has in her notebook or puts in her notebook.
