Meira was a little skittish for a while, as she thought about what had happened to her. There wasn't any way in hell that she could tell Bella, nor could she ever tell Charlie. She wondered if her sister was dealing with the same problem, but Bean never went back to visit their old home because of their mom, so she doubted Bean would've opened her own window. Besides, if she had, Meira believed her father would've told her during the dream. Her father seemed pretty lucid when she talked to him, so she figured he'd be able to tell her things she didn't know about.
"Carlisle is back, Meira." Alice said, as she knocked lightly on the bathroom door.
Meira had been standing in the bathroom looking at herself in the mirror for the last fifteen minutes. Jasper knew something was wrong, since he could feel her emotions, but he didn't want to bother her. Alice and Emmett had tried to keep from bothering her as well, but Alice had to tell her that Carlisle had arrived so she could talk to him about her problem. Meira came out of the bathroom moments later, and Alice smiled sweetly at her. She grabbed Meira's hand and lead her down the stairs and into the living room where Carlisle and Esme were waiting on her. Edward and Rosalie had come back as well, but they were changing so they didn't scare Meira.
"Nice to meet you, Meira. I'm Carlisle, and this is my wife, Esme." Carlisle said, and Meira smiled.
"Nice to meet you both." Meira replied, as Esme stayed smiling at the girl.
"Meira, Jasper has informed me of your dream and everything that has been going on since your trip to Aberdeen. I've heard that you feel like you'd be told your crazy, but I can assure you that you are nowhere near the spectrum of crazy." Carlisle commented, as he motioned for Meira to have a seat.
Meira sat down on the huge couch, and soon was joined by all of the Cullen children, as well as Esme and Carlisle.
"Have you ever heard of psychics or psychic mediums?" Carlisle asked, causing the girl to bite her lip.
"Like on the show Kindred Spirits?" Meira asked, and Esme nodded.
Esme had watched the show a few times, and when she seen the guy who talked to ghosts, Chip Coffey, she had wished she knew someone who could do the same. She thought the ability was pretty cool, and she wished she could talk to some of the people who've died from her past.
"Many people believe psychics are frauds, since most people who claim to be psychics are frauds and have been claiming to use the ability to gain profit from it. There's very few psychics in the world, Meira, and the ability isn't always easy to control. From the moment you opened the window to the other side for your father, you also opened a window for other spirits to be able to talk to you as well. Some are good and some are bad, but they might or might not seek you out to tell you what happened to them or have you explain to them what is going on. Once you have a better handle on your ability, you'll be able to contact your father whenever you want, more than just in your dreams. You may also be able to speak to other spirits outside of your dreams. Most spirits are confined to the place where they died, but some roam the earth looking for an answer or for closure. Sometimes you might feel things that they felt, but not to the severity they felt it." Carlisle explained, causing the girl to sigh.
"Would they be able to hurt me?" She asked, making Carlisle frown.
"I haven't heard of such things, but we will help you get a handle on your ability. We will help you learn everything you need to know about your ability, and we'll help you learn to control it," Carlisle said, before he looked at Meira with a serious face,"Once you learn to handle your ability a bit more, there's a chance you could come in contact with child spirits. Since you're a woman, most child spirits would be drawn to you before they're drawn to a man, solely because you're more of a motherly feeling than a man is. They're hard to handle, because they'll make you upset, but you'll have to endure it because of your ability." He added, causing Meira to nod warily.
Meira wasn't a big fan of children, mostly because her childhood wasn't that great once her father passed. She didn't want to see a child spirit though, even if she wasn't a big fan of children.
"Can we keep this a secret? I don't want Bella knowing about this. It's very overwhelming for me right now, and I don't want her trying to interrogate me or get me to do a seance because she thinks I'm crazy." Meira commented, causing the Cullens to nod.
"It might help if she knew, Meira. You could talk to her whenever something happens or if you get spooked." Edward said, causing Meira to sigh.
"I don't want her to know, Edward. Please respect that," She replied, as Rosalie glared at her brother, practically threatening him to keep his mouth shut,"I'll tell her when I'm ready and when I've come to terms with everything myself." She said, and everyone agreed.
Meira was a little frightened by her ability, but she was willing to learn more about it and learn how to control it. She wanted to tell Bella, but she was worried about how her best friend would react. She didn't want to be hated by her best friend. She never thought something like this could be real. She almost believed psychic mediums were fake, but now she knew they weren't. How would she ever explain her ability, especially to her sister when she sees her again one day...
