Meira was brought straight to the Cullen house to rest and talk to Carlisle. Jasper decided the girl would get some rest before she spoke with Carlisle, since she was so exhausted and emotionally tired.
"You should get some rest. I will wake you up in two hours, if you're not already awake." Jasper said, as he lead the girl up to his room.
Meira slipped off her shoes and laid them next to the bed, before she climbed into the bed and laid down. Jasper pulled the blanket up over Meira's body, watching as her eyes almost instantly began to close as she became comfortable in the bed.
"Will you stay up here?" Meira asked, her eyes still closed as she addressed Jasper.
"I will, but I have to talk to Esme first. I will be back in here in about ten minutes." Jasper replied, and Meira nodded her head sleepily.
Once Jasper was sure that Meira was asleep, he left the room and walked back downstairs and into the kitchen. When he entered the kitchen, Esme looked up at him with an expectant expression on her face.
"What happened?" Esme asked, causing Jasper to sigh.
"Meira's abilities are progressing quicker than we thought. She's not really able to control it anymore. She hasn't slept, or if she has, it hasn't been well. Earlier, she seen someone. I'm guessing she can see spirits now, and soon she'll be able to interact with them once she gets more control. When she said she seen someone, she started freaking out. I had to use almost all of my strength to hold her, and almost all my energy to use my power to calm her down. I believe we really need to help her, otherwise she's going to hurt herself or someone else because of her abilities." Jasper explained, causing Esme to frown.
"I will call Carlisle. He will come home to help her. He'll want her to explain everything to him that has happened to her since she learned a bit about her abilities." She replied, making Jasper nod.
"She'll be awake in two hours, rather she wakes herself or I do." Jasper said, before he walked out of the room.
Jasper walked back up to his room and took a seat near one of the windows, as he pulled out a book and began to read it. He knew he'd most likely have the book finished by the time Meira awoke, but he didn't want to seem like a creep watching her sleep, so he decided to read.
By the time two hours had rolled by, Jasper had finished his book, and he walked over to his bed and lightly shook Meira's shoulder. When she opened her eyes, he could tell that she had gotten some much deserved rest, though he knew she needed more than she had recieved.
"Time to come downstairs. Carlisle should be home, and he'll help figure out why your abilities have been progressing so rapidly." Jasper said, causing Meira to nod.
Meira followed Jasper downstairs and into the kitchen where Carlisle and Esme were waiting on them. Esme had made Meira some food, knowing food would help the girl regain some of her energy. Meira sat down at the bar, and Jasper sat next to her, as Carlisle and Esme stood on the other side together.
"How far has your abilities progressed?" Carlisle asked, causing the girl to sigh.
"I've still been seeing and talking to my dad in my dreams, and feeling him around at all times,"She began, taking a sip of her coffee,"The other day I swore I seen him in the mirror, but when I turned around, he wasn't there. Later that day, I seen a girl in the school bathroom for the first time, and she disappeared into thin air. Last night, my father--I seen him sitting in the chair near my bed. When I talked to him, it was like he heard me, but he wasn't able to talk back. I don't think I've progressed far enough to have an actual conversation with ghosts yet." She said, causing Carlisle to nod as he listened to her speak.
"Tell him about earlier today." Jasper murmured, giving the girl a reassuring smile.
"Earlier, I seen a man outside of the school. He was tall and wearing an old suit. It was like I was stuck in place, but when he started walking closer, I was terrified. I tried to run away, but Jasper grabbed me. Honestly, if he wasn't around, I'd probably somewhere lost in the woods, terrified, and crying my eyes out." She said, causing the doctor to frown.
"Meira, I believe the man was trying to communicate with you. I believe the ghosts or spirits can feel that you're different, and that you can communicate with them. I told you they might approach you, but I didn't think it would be so soon. I'm going to try my best to figure out why your abilities have progressed so rapidly, but while I'm trying to find answers, my family and I will help you control your abilities. Next time you see a spirit or ghost, let them approach you. You should be able to feel if they're good spirits or poltergeists, so you won't have to worry about being hurt. When you see your next spirit and have let them approach you, try to speak to them again. I have a feeling your abilities may be stronger than any other person that has had abilities like yours." Carlisle stated, and Meira nodded.
Meira was scared about allowing a ghost or spirit approach her, especially if there was a chance they could be a poltergeist, but she knew she'd have to learn to communicate with them eventually. She just hoped nothing bad would happen to her while trying to communicate with them. She almost prayed that her first conversation with a ghost or spirit was with her father, so she wouldn't be scared. If her past has ever proved anything though, good things didn't always happen to her when she wanted it to...
