Bella's birthday had arrived, and Meira was ready to give her best friend the best birthday of her life. The problem was, Bella seemed to dislike the idea of her birthday, but it confused Meira, since Bella had always loved her birthday back when she still lived with Renee. Meira believed that the Cullens had something to do with Bella though, since Bella wanted to be with Edward and Edward was forever seventeen. Bella was now eighteen, which meant she seen herself as older than Edward, though technically Edward was way older than Bella.
"We're having a party for Bella at the house. Are you going to come?" Jasper asked, as he stood next to her outside of the Swan house.
"I would, but I have some last minute things to do for my record deal. Dre wants me to have some more songs finished so I can have a couple of albums out the year my contract starts." Meira replied, and Jasper nodded.
"Alice won't be happy to hear that." Jasper commented, causing the girl to shrug.
"Bella knows I have work to do, so she understands that I might be a bit busy today." She said, causing Jasper to chuckle.
"I will take care of Alice, don't worry." Jasper replied, and Meira nodded.
Meira still really hadn't forgiven Jasper and Alice, but she was starting to forgive them. She was forgiving Jasper faster than Alice, but she was friends with Jasper way longer than she was with Alice.
After talking to Jasper, Meira went straight up to her room to write. She was definitely going to be busy, but Bella understood. She had started to talk to her father more, even when he wasn't able to talk back at times. He was around often though, which was a bit calming for Meira, especially with her new abilities progressing so fast.
Meira began writing in one of her many notebooks, but she frowned when she realized she was on the last page of her notebook. She quickly looked through her other notebooks, but she was disappointed to see that all of them were full of songs, or random little thoughts and ideas that popped into her head throughout the day. Sighing, Meira got up out of her bed and went downstairs. She wrote a note, just in case Bella or Charlie got back before she did.
She decided to go to the small store near La Push, since they had some of the best notebooks. All of their notebooks seemed to last longer and were more durable. Even the pages were more durable, and ink didn't soak through them as easy as other notebooks. While in the store, Meira had also grabbed new pens, a few packs of candy, and some soda. This would most likely be her dinner for the night, but that didn't really surprise her much.
"Oh!" Meira gasped, when she accidentally bumped into someone,"I am so sorry. I didn't mean to run into you. I was in my own little world." She apologized, but the woman shook her head and laughed.
"It's fine. It happens." She replied, and Meira smiled.
Meira turned to walk away, but when she seen the woman had a cart full of things, she decided to turn around back to her.
"Would you like some help?" Meira asked,"I mean, you've got a lot of things, and I'm not saying you can't do it yourself, but I wanted to help you if you'd let me." She commented, and the woman smiled.
"Normally I would say that I got this, but you're such a sweetheart, I'll let you help." The woman replied, causing Meira to smile as well.
Meira and the woman paid for their items, before Meira helped the woman bring her things out to her truck. Meira placed all of her own things in her car, before quickly loading all of the woman's things into the woman's truck.
"Thank you," The woman commented,"I didn't quite get your name." The woman added, and Meira chuckled.
"I'm Meira, Meira Kurt Cobain, and you're welcome." Meira replied, giving the woman a nod.
"Nice to meet you, Meira. I'm Emily Young. I haven't seen you around here before, are you new?" She asked, causing Meira to shake her head.
"No, I live in Forks with my friend Bella, and her father. Her father's the chief of police." She replied, and Emily smiled.
"I've heard of Charlie. He's been on the rez a few times. You know what," Emily began, pulling out a miniature notebook and pen,"you should come by some time. I feel like you, me, and my fiance would be good friends. Call me, and we can set up something." She said, causing Meira to nod.
"I can do that. I'll call you later when I'm not busy with my writing." Meira answered, and Emily smiled.
"You're a writer?" Emily asked, looking at Meira with bright eyes.
"Yes, well, technically. I write my own music. I actually will have an album or two out in a few years. My father, he was my biggest inspiration when it comes to music, so I wanted to follow in his footsteps." She replied, as Emily nodded while listening to her.
"Oh!" Emily exclaimed,"Your father is Kurt Cobain, he was the lead singer of Nirvana. I knew you looked familiar, and you look just like him. I loved his music. I still listen to it when the boys are out, and I'm at the house alone." She commented, and Meira smiled.
"That's amazing, I love hearing things like that when it's about my father," Meira replied,"Y'know, I might bring a notebook or something by to show you." She said, causing Emily to grin.
"You could always just sing for me, instead of bringing a notebook. I'd rather you didn't accidentally lose it, since I know it means a lot to you." Emily replied, and Meira nodded.
"I'll do it, just let me finish a few things, and I'll call you." Meira answered, before she waved goodbye to Emily.
Meira went straight home and began to work on her newest song. She didn't want to take long, since she wanted to talk to Emily and make a new friend...
