Hayley's P.O.V
Michaels elbow was messed up, really badly. I ran over to the counter and asked for some ice in a bag and a few moments later I was handing it to Michael.
'Just a heads up, it'll probably hurt more,' I said sympathetically. He took the ice and carefully put it underneath his elbow. He flinched and his face was contorted with pain. This was all my fault!
'Do you have any panadol?' He asked.
'No, sorry, I have some at home, but not here. I don't even have my phone! Oh my god I'm so sorry Michael!' I said.
'It's not your fault babe, but can any of you drive?' He asked looking at my friends and I.
'I get my L's this year,' Sally said.
'Good enough, can you drive me to the hospital?' Michael asked getting up slowly.
'I guess, but I don't know if I can make it that far,' Sally said uncertainly.
'You'll be fine!' Denique encouraged her. 'How many times have you driven out on the farm?' She continued.
'I guess, ok let's just go,' she said taking the keys from Michael. I helped him up, but we had to find something that would make a sling. The only thing we could use would he his shirt.
'Take your shirt off,' I commanded.
'What? Why?' Michael complained.
'I know it will probably hurt taking it off, but we need to make a sling for your arm. So take your shirt off,' I explained.
'Ok, but not here,' Michael said reluctantly.
'Back at the car,' I said leading him out the door. Once we reached the car everyone was waiting for us. Michael put the ice on the seat and started to take off his shirt. His left arm was the injured one, so we started with his right arm. Once that was out we got it over his head and then carefully off his left. I folded it up and tied it around his neck so that he had at least a makeshift one.
I helped him into the car and sat next to him, giving him back the ice. Sally drove carefully to the hospital with Michaels P's on the car. We were breaking the law and we knew it, but we didn't really care. I kept looking down at his elbow, it was swelling really badly, and he couldn't put it in a comfortable position. That's when I got an idea.
'Hey, look in the glove box for some panadol,' I said to Denique who was riding shot gun. She opened it up, and sure enough, there it was.
'Here,' she said handing the packet back to us. I popped out two pills and handed them to Michael.
'Thanks,' he said as he swolled it down with out water, the second following quickly.
'It's all good,' I said. The rest of the ride was quiet, and when we finally got to the hospital, there was practically no one there. Someone was looking down on us right now. I walked up to the reception desk and explained what had happened. They haned me some paper work to fill out, then I went and sat with everyone once it was done.
'How long do you give it?' Michael asked looking at the clock.
'At least twenty,' I said, remembering the time I broke my elbow.
'Even if they work quickly?' He asked.
'Sadly yes, when I broke my arm, it took over and hour and a half, but there's like no one here, so it should be faster,' I reassured him.
'Really when did you do that?' He asked.
'Before you get into the story, can I just say we have to get home, so we will catch the next bus that comes,' Jaz said.
