Four days after I broke down in the kitchen, it was Valentines Day. Valentines Day. Hayley's birthday. She was fifteen, but still asleep, and suffering more than she deserved. I had finally sent her a text, so that when she wakes up its there for her, but it turned into multiple paragraphs about how I was sorry and I loved her so much. But there was still no news on her. Ashton called Jasmine and they talked for hours.

Calum and Sally talked on Skype too. But Sally was more upset that Hayley wasn't there to celebrate and complain that today was over rated unless you were her and everything. Calum just sat and listened to her and said it would be ok.

Luke talked with a friend of his from Sydney. They had always been close, but I guess they were getting closer now.

I called my mum.

'Hey Mikey!' She answered cheerfully.

'Hey mum,' I said. 'How are you?'

'I'm good. I miss you like crazy though. How's the album coming?'

'I miss you too. As for the album, I don't really know. I sort of can't pay attention.'

'Aw, Michael,' my mum sighed. 'I know it's hard honey, but just try. The rest if the boys are counting on you, and you know the fans are too. You also know we'll call if something happens.'

'I know, but I don't want to feel like I'm forgetting her,' I mumbled.

'So do something that will make everyone remember her!' My mum said.

'Like what?' I asked.

'Write her something!' Everyone seemed to be telling me that lately.

'You know, I have this song I was writing before we left.'

'So get off the phone and finish it!' Mum ordered.

'Alright, alright! I love you mum. Bye!' I I said.

'I love you too baby.' We hung up and I went to find my acoustic guitar and the case that had all of my lyrics and chords in it. I pulled out all of the paper and started to sort through it while sitting on the floor of mine and Ashton's room. As I sorted, I found a sealed envelope. On the front there was a short message.

"This was written the night she stayed over. It hasn't been read. It's addressed to you."

I dropped to my knees and started at the envelope in my hands. I could be holding her last words. Slowly and carefully, I opened the envelope to reveal and sheet of A4 paper covered on both side with her handwriting. I held my breath as I started to read it.

"Michael, Michael, Michael.

Where oh where do I begin? To me, the beginning seems a good a place as any, don't you? So, to the beginning we shall venture. Back to that old table, with the bench seats, humid weather, music that's too loud and completely uninvolved in the world.

While sitting there, I had never expected to meet someone who could change my life in such a dramatic way, mean so much to me, and save me all at once. Yet, there you were. I don't want to stay talking about this for too long, but just know; that moment meant something when you sat down.
