Michael's P.O.V
Sitting here in the cinema with Hayley was exactly where I wanted to be. I had my arm around her, and she was cuddling up to me, her head on my shoulder. I wasn't really paying attention to the movie, it was kind of a chick flick, but I knew that she liked it as she kept smiling.
I looked back to the screen, not knowing what was going on, but everyone was laughing, so I did too. Hayley looked up at me then, and I smiled at her, then she turned her head back to the movie.
It was almost over, and when the end credits started rolling, I felt Hayley sit up and cross her legs over mine. She had a cheeky grin on her lips, and I wondered what she was up to.
'That was cool,' she grinned. 'What now?'
'What number are we up to? I lost count,' I laughed, placing my hand on her thigh.
'Uh, five I think.' Her arms went around my neck and she slid onto my lap.
'Ok then, 'Part Five'. First, we have to get out of here,' I said. Not that I wanted to, this was the kind of thing I had been wanting to do with her for the past two weeks.
'And heading where?' Hayley asked, hoping for a hint.
'Where ever I take you,' I replied standing up, carefully sliding her off my lap, I stood there and waiting for her to jump on my back for a piggy back. She giggled quietly. The people in the cinema gave us disapproving looks, but I just ran down the stairs and out of the theatre. Once we were outside, I looked around for something we could do, then got an idea.
'Have you ever been to Starbucks?' I asked Hayley, putting her down on the ground.
'No, they didn't have one in Cairns. Is that what we're doing?!' She asked excitedly.
'Hmm...' I pretended to think about it, she pouted in the most adorable way, I just had to smile at her. 'Yeah, lets go!' I said, taking her hand in mine and entwining our fingers.
'Yay!' She squealed, swinging our hands in the air. Ever since today had started, she seemed happier, more like the girl I met, sitting alone at that old wooden table. She was full of energy, smiling and laughing, enjoying the little things in life. I was surprised when she first agreed to be mine, if I'm being totally honest.
I looked at her, and young and beautiful girl like her, what was she doing with me? Today, something just seemed to make her more beautiful, the way the sun shone down on her hair, or the way she seemed to radiate happiness being out of the house. I don't know what it was, but I liked it. She was in just shorts, and white singlet, and a denim jacket, but she looked like a movie star. The way she sat her aviators on her head, and how she walked around with her hand in her pocket, her thumb sticking out.
I noticed every little thing she did, like how she always tapped her foot, or the pen she was holding, or drummed with her fingers or hands, or just kept a constant beat. Everything she did was to a beat, the way she spoke, how she walked, the way she moved. Everything was in time. I knew that when she was alone, and thought that no one could see, she would dance around to her music. She put her right sock on first, but the left shoe first. Everything she did was right handed, but she did everything with her left foot. And she bites her lip. All the time; when she's thinking, nervous, excited, sad, happy. She always biting her lip.
I'm not sure if she would be happy, or creeped out if I told her all of this. So I just kept it to myself. Holding her hand, I moved her in front of me and wrapped my arms around her, letting everyone know Hayley was mine. She turned and looked at me, grinning. I went to kiss her, but she turned her head back laughing.
