A Struggle Within Itself

Chapter 12

Genniffer's Pov
1 week later, November,
Monday

Today was the hardest day I ever had getting out of bed. Usually I'm pretty excited getting ready for school, picking out what I'm going to wear, making breakfast for Brian. But now that ain't happening. I went to the restroom to brush my teeth.

Ever since I kissed Brian and left I've been avoiding him. I just hadn't had anything really to say to him. So for the past couple of days when he would come over I would have Trey go answer the door for me and he would give Brian some reason for why I couldn't see him. Speaking of Trey, his little hustle of his is paying off.

I guess its been going so well that Trey was able to set up a little trap house a couple blocks down from ours. The place had three bedrooms, but they didn't use the rooms as bedrooms. Treyvian turned the biggest room into his office, and the room next his, Jaylen's office. I don't know about the third room though. Now that he actually has a place to export drugs he has moved most of the drugs from out of my room to the trap house. Now I only kept little packages of drugs like samples in my bed frame.

Jaylen was still mad at me. He did the same thing he always did when he gets mad, which was ignore and try to make me jealous. The flaw for his plan was I seen this routine all to well for him to actually make me mad.

I finished whatever I had to do in the bathroom and picked out my clothes. A nice tan sweater with some dark blue jeans. To top it off I wore some timberlands to go with it and I put on a cute over coat that was layered at the bottom of it since ot was starting to get chilly outside.

I went downstairs and made myself some breakfast. Trey let Jaylen inside and the went upstairs like they normally did yo go load up. After they were done Jaylen came back downstairs and sat down next to me and watched tv.

"Can you give me the remote?" He said without taking his eyes off the tv.

"Well good morning to you too Jaylen" I smiled. He ignored my comment. He pointed to remote. "Say please" I teased.

"Jesus, please?" He said getting a little agrivated. I grabbed his face and turned it towards me.

"Look at me when you ask me a question." I smiled. Jaylen pushed my hand away. Then someone knocked at the door. It was Brian. Trey wasn't around at the moment so I couldn't send him to cock-block me. My heart jumped. "Jaylen can you get the door. If it's Brian tell him I'm sick or something."

"Why? You ain't never had a problem with him coming over before."

"Please I just don't want to see him right now."A smile grew across Jaylen's face. He got up and answered the door. I hid behind the counter just in case.

"Come on in Brian" Jaylen yelled out. That fucker. Should of known. "Genniffer is here she um" He looked around the room for me. "She hiding behind the counter in the kitchen." They shook up and went over to the counter. I didn't want it to look like I was actually hiding from him. I grabbed something out of the cabinet and stood up.

" I wasn't hiding" I lied, "I was just um." I looked at what I had in my hand. It was a can opener. They both laughed.

"Nah Gen tell him the truth" Jaylen smirked. I shot him a glare. Just then Trey came downstairs and said it was time to go. Thank god for my brother. We all went outside and got in his car. I tried to sit in the front, but Trey said he had to put something in the front seat. So I had to sit in the back with Brian and Jaylen. What was even was even worse he said I had sit in between the both of them because he thought it was safer for me to make sure they wasn't trying to feel up on me while he was driving. I took this chance to get back at Jaylen. I laid my feet down on his lap and rested my head on Brian. Jaylen couldn't stand it seeing me hugged up with someone else. So I played it to my advantage. As we rode to school I could see Jaylen's eyes glance at me every so often to make sure I wasn't doing anything but laying on Brian's shoulder. His nostrils flared and he took heavy breathes which let me know he was jealous. As soon as we pulled up at the school I hopped out and ran to class. I didn't want to talk to Brian or hear Jaylen's bullshit when I got out.

Later in Geometry I annoyed Jaylen while Victoria annoyed me. I dodged Brian the whole day and didn't meet up with him in our regular spots in the hallway. Then in lunch I ate with Aqua at the head lunch table. I had already filled her in about my kiss with Brian about a while ago. But of course we still talked about it.

"I don't get it. You said the kiss was amazing. Why are you dodging him? If I was you I would of came back later that night and finished the job with him!" Aqua giggled.

"I did. It's just that it reminded me of Jaylen. I remembered he is Jaylen's bestfriend and I didn't want to hurt him like that." I complained.

"What do you care you dumped him right before went to Brian's house?"

"I didn't dump him" I muttered. " I still want Jaylen. As much as I like Brian, I still want Jaylen. To do so I need to get Brian off my mind. To do so, I have been avoiding him." I spotted my new friend Crispy across the cafeteria and waved over to her to come sit with us.

"You are not going get rid of that boy by just avoiding him. Trust me it only builds up the sexual tension. Like this one time with me and this boy named Donte..." I held up my hand to tell Aqua to stop. I welcomed Crispy and she sat down with us. Aqua introduced herself and then turned back to me. "Speaking of sexual tension, did you find out if your brother is single. Ooooh he maybe 18 but he got a body. He bone and muscle, no fat. He got that good body Gen. You need to hook me up with him. Let me take a chance at your brother's disco stick."

Me and Crispy busted out in laughter. Then an idea popped in my head. Set Brian up with someone so I can get him off my mind and get Jaylen back. My head turned toward Crispy. She was a good looking dark skin. Her chest wasn't flat and she wasn't sporting any weave. As far as I'm concered all the hair on her head was natural.

"Hey Crispy do you have someone special in your life, a boyfriend?" I asked. She shook her head no. I smiled. I peered around the cafeteria for Brian. As soon as I spotted him I called out his named. He looked up from his table and a big ass smile grew on his face as if he was eager to know that I still even knew his name from the way I've been dodging him. He quickly came over.

"Yes Genniffer?' Brian looked at me intensly. He sat down next to me. He grabbed my hand. I pulled away and pointed at Crispy.

"Have you met my friend Crispy?" I smiled. Crispy's mouth hung open. Brian looked her up and down and smiled as if he liked what he saw. He turned his attention back towards me.

"No I haven't" He held out his hand. They shook hands and Crispy smiled so hard trying to show him her pearly whites as much as possible. My stomach grumbled at little as they looked at each other.

"Brian this is Crispy, Crispy this is Brian." Aqua shook her head at the sight of this and knew exactly what I was trying to do. My stomach began to grumble some more, but I did my best to ignore it. It was hard work but I eventually convinced them to go on a date.
