Chapter 20

Flashback
Genniffer's Pov

I ran backstage and went into a dressing room that had my name marked on it. I went in there and took a seat in front of a big mirror. I looked at it. A tear fell from my face. I don't get it. How long had I not known? When did it all start? I tried to make sense out of what I saw in the bathroom. I ended up bursting into tears. I sunk my head down into my arms. I cried out of anger and sadness. Is that why he was mad at me for so long? So he could get something on the side? I wanted to punch Victoria for taking Jaylen. Most of all hurt Jaylen because he knew I did not like her. For him to betray me like that. I wished he would of dumped me rather than making a complete fool out of me. I heard the room door open. I looked over my shoulder awkardly trying not to show that I was crying and to see who it was.

It was Kobe. He stepped in the room and closed the door behind him. He was dressed in an all white suit. I sniffled and tried to wipe my eyes so he couldn't see my tears.

"Um Kobe can you go out for a minute. I need to get dressed." I sniffled.

"Yeah, sure." Kobe nodded. He looked at the mirror and saw my reflection. "Gen what's wrong?" Kobe took a step closer to me.

"Nothing," I wiped my nose. I waved my hand for him to stay back. "I just need to get dressed." I said in a shaky voice.

"Are you sure? What happened? Genniffer you can tell me." Kobe came up and put his hand on my back. I shuddered a little being reminded of what happened. I shoved Kobe's hand off of me.

"No!" I shouted. Kobe gave me a surprised look. I took a deep breathe and tears were brought to my eyes again. "I just need to get dressed " I said in a softer voice. I began to cry again.

"Alright, just know that I'm here for you Genniffer." Kobe gave me a hug and left the room. I did my best to straightened myself up and changed into a white ruffled dress. Kobe came back in a couple of minutes later and looked at me. "Wow" was all he could say. I stood up so he could get a full view of me in the dress. "You look beautiful."

"Yeah but I don't feel beautiful." I sighed and took a seat back down in the chair.

"Genniffer whats wrong? Tell me." Kobe begged.

I looked away from him. Kobe turned my chair so I was facing him. He looked deep into my eyes and gave me a serious look. I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. Just then the door opened. Jaylen entered.

"Gen baby." Jaylen called. My eyes became lifeless once I saw him and I turned towards the mirror. "Gen at least let me explain!" He shouted. I couldn't stand the thought of Jaylen. I wasn't intrested in anything he had to say.

"Please just leave" I told him.

"No, boo I'm not going to leave until you talk to me." I groaned, stood up from my chair and walked out of the room. My shoulder brushed up against Jaylen and I pushed my way past him. I went to the other side of the stage. I bumped to Victoria. I took one look at her and made a fist with my hand.

I laid up in my bed and stayed up late. Treyvian sure was taking his sweet time coming home. I wonder where he could be. The moon looked pretty tonight. My phone rang, it was Aqua.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Gen, girl what the hell did you do to Brian?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Crispy just called me and cried over the phone talking about her and Brian broke up."

"What! Why did they break up?"

"Genniffer come on now don't act like you don't why."

"No for real Aqua tell me."

"Ugh you're so oblivious to what's going on around you. They broke up because of you, which isn't suprising."

"Aqua are you serious."

"Yes! Crispy seemed pretty mad and sad at the same time. So if I were you I'd watch my back around Crispy."

"Okay."

"Also she said another thing about Brian's feelings towards you, but you will find out soon enough. Do me a favor go to Brian's house and see how he's doing."

"Oh god. No Aqua it is too late. I been through enough today."

"Please for me." I thought it over.

"I will if you tell me what Crispy said."

"You will find out when you go over there. I'm pretty sure he will have the balls to say it to you if he a real nigga."

"Fine" I hung up and groaned. It was already late in the night so I don't want anything else to happen tonight. I put a jacket on over my dress, some uggs and stepped out into the bitter, cold air and went to Brian's. I knocked on the door, Brian opened the door and took me upstairs to his room.

"Aqua wants me to come over.... So what's up, what happened?" I asked. I took a seat with Brian on his bed. Brian scratched the back of his head.

"Crispy broke up with me." Brian said bluntly.

"Did she say why or anything about me?" I went after what Aqua told me straight up. I might heart leaped and jumped just eing told a relationship ended because of me. Sound like a home wrecker and that's not something I want to be. Brian kinda smiled at my question. I tilted my head sidways.

"Uh Yeah... She said that after seeing us dance." Brian took a pause and looked at me. He stared at me for a while. Brian grabbed my arm and rubbed it. Lots of thoughts started to go through my head. What did Crispy say was on my mind. But it seemed like Brian had something completely different on his mind. He leaned for a kiss. He closed his eyes leaned in slow. It hit me. Brian and Crispy broke up because of me. Brian likes me. I felt stupid, how could I not see it? I put my hand up and Brian ended up kissing my hand. I shook my head no.

"I didn't come here for that" I said slowly.
"Tell me why did yall break up?"

"Because she said somethings and I said somethings and we decided to break up."

"I didn't come here for you to beat around the bush about it. I came here to talk to you about it as a friend. Not to come over here and kiss you. I didn't get my ass out of bed on a long Friday night for nothing. If your not going to tell me then I'm leaving." I got up from Brian's bed and went for the door. Brian stood up.

"Okay wait." Brian put a hand is pocket and scratched the back of his neck with his other hand. "After we danced and you left me and Crispy talked." Brian took a pause like the next thing was going to be hard to say. I gave him a confused look. "And she thought that I was more interested in you than her." Brian chuckled a little. " In fact she even said that I was in love with you. Then she said that she wanted to break up and that's it." Brian scratched his head and looked at the ground. My heart started to beat a little faster at what I heard.

"So do you think she's right. Do you think you have feelings for me?"

"Yeah I do.... Look do you want to just hangout and talk." Brian held his hand out to his bed. I laughed a little.

"I can't I have to wait out for my brother to get home." I gave Brian a hug goodbye. It was a long one. He held me tight and his body felt so warm and good. Brian seemed serious about his feelings for me.

"Are you sure you can't wait for him here? Or I could come stay the night with you? Please lil mama."

"Huhhhh Fine come on nigga get your stuff and lets go. I wanna go to bed." Brian laughed.

"Can I sleep in your bed with y-"

"No nigga. You sleeping on the floor." I interrupted.

"Ight fine lets go."
