A Struggle Within Itself

Chapter 17

Genniffer's Pov

Me and Aqua finished putting on our dresses. We went to the bathroom and put on some make up. We were going to be amazing when we hit that dance floor.

"Aqua you don't need that much make up. You're fine." I assured Aqua.

"Gen you know I need this much. Because my skin and, well you know." Aqua frowned.

"Whatever Aqua I think your beautiful without it. Plus Antwan is going to love you either way." I smiled and patted Aqua on the back.

"Yeah well I'm not going to Homecoming with Antwan."

"Why not?"

"He's in one of his moods again." She said plainly. I finished the conversation with an "Oh" and that was the end of it. Aqua frustrates me sometimes. She can be so insecure about her beauty. I think she is fine for the way she is. And as for Antwan he is a bitch for not coming to take Aqua to the dance.

We finished dressing up and we went in Treyvian's car. Treyvian came out of the house looking sharp in the outfit I picked out for him. We went to pick up Crispy and then head to the school. We agreed that our men will meet us at the dance. So they can be suprised to see us in our clothes in the spot.

We went up there and when Jaylen saw me he basically couldn't keep his eyes off of me. Brian stood next to him. He kept his eyes on Crispy, but I could tell he wanted to look over at me to get a full glimpse of me and my beautiful dress. Me and Crispy both gave our boyfriends hugs. I looked over at Aqua. She looked left out. So I motioned for Brian and Jaylen to give her a hug. Then Brian came over to me and gave me a hug next. He took his time. He sniffed some of my perfume and it was like he didn't want to let go of me. But I eventually broke us up. I didn't want Jaylen or Crispy to think anything was going on between us.

Treyvian pulled Jaylen off to the side and whispered something his ear. Jaylen nodded and came back over to me.
"Let's dance" He told me. He grabbed my hand and pulled me torward the dance floor. I was happy. Jaylen pulled me in close and we danced. I pulled out my phone to take a picture with Jaylen, but someone bumped into me causing me to drop my phone. It cracked but I didn't mind. I was here with Jaylen so nothing mattered to me. I was happy.

"So you ready for us to become king and queen?" I smiled. Jaylen looked over at Treyvian real quick.

"Yeah um, after the voting... Me and Trey gotta cut out." Jaylen said cautiosly as he said each word. I groaned and pulled away. Really? This business of theres is starting to interfere with me. But there is no use in crying over spilled milk so I will make the best of it.

"Fine" We danced to a slow song silently. I looked over at Brian and Crispy dancing. He held her close. Her head was laid on his chest while they danced. Brian cupped her hands closely. By the looks of his face it seemed like he had everything but Crispy on his mind. A good song came on and I gave Jaylen a show. I grinded on him to the beat of the song. Threw my ass in a circle and twerked my butt off.

Afterwards I sent Jaylen to get me some punch so I could check on Aqua. To my surprise she was talking it up with Treyvian.

"So how are you guys doing?" They looked up at me.

"Good" Aqua smiled and raised her eyebrow as if to say that they had something going. I laughed.

"Not a damn thing. This place boring as fuck" Trey mumbled. Aqua's smile swept away at Treyvian's statement. I laughed even harder. Jaylen came back with my punch and whispered in my ear.

"You look so sexy in that dress. It making wanna do some thangs to ya." He whispered in a sexy voice.

"Is that so?" I giggled. Jaylen rubbed up against my butt. Crispy and Brian came over and sat down with us.

"My feet fucking hurt." Crispy sighed. She took off her heels and rubbed her foot.

"Okay so what do you guys want to do after the dance? Maybe come over to my place?" Aqua offered.

"Yeah it always gets stupid fun at your house Aqua" Brian laughed. I agreed to go. Jaylen and Treyvian looked off into space so they could avoid the question.

"I harldy call you and Jaylen and your friends debating whether me or Aqua throw better neck fun." I joked.

"I won by the way" Aqua raised her hand.

"Really how did yall come to that conclusion?" Crispy laughed.

"Please just look at Gen. If she had a dick hanging in her face she wouldn't know what to do. The second she would stick it in her mouth she would choke." Aqua called out.

"And let's keep it that way" Treyvian cut his eyes at me.

"But um if you threw your dick my way I would surely know what to do, how to please every part of it" Aqua looked at Treyvian and gave him a wink. He ignored her and looked away. Everyone laughed. A microphone came on. Ms.Fellis stood up on a stage. She announced that they will be picking a king and queen soon so t let the voting begin! Everyone cluttered the voting table.

It seemed like the line stretched on for forever. When I finally got up there I of course voted for myself and Jaylen. After that the constestants for King and Queen went up on stage. We stood there and smiled while everyone rapped up voting. Math teachers went over to tally up the votes. I don't know why they chose all math teachers. I guess regular teachers can't count. I was starting to get nervous and played with my fingers. Aqua seemed to be a litte nervous too. She fiddled with her hair. I looked at Victoria. She stood there as if there was nothing wrong. As if she wasn't on stage, as if nothing seemed to affect her. Or she wasn't nervous. "Perfect Bitch" I mumbled to myself. The boys stood on stage like men. Up straight and clueless.

Finally they finished and Ms.Fellis came back on stage. She announced they completed counting. Everyone responded with a cheer. My body tensed up. I wanted to win and beat Victoria at something. It would be good to finally put that trick in place. They did the boys first since they weren't as important. Jaylen won. There was nothing to it. Brian came in second. I knew Jaylen was going to win from the start. He had so many friends that would vote for him. I was more worried about myself then him winning. Once they moved to the girls Ms.Fellis let the suspense sink in. She was killing me. She literally sat on stage making us look like fool for 10 minutes. I wanted to choke her out and demand that she spit it out already.

"Now for the girls." The crowd roared. My body shook. I looked over at Victoria standing completely together. Ugh how she annoyed me by her presense. "Aqua Marina" Aqua looked surprised. Not out of losing but out of happiness. She went to the front to get crowned. Ms.Fellis let the crowd get quiet again. I wanted to strangle her. I wanted to know.

"Genniffer...." My heart sank. I started to take a deep breathe. "Genniffer I'm sorry because Victoria Pallis wins!" I choked on air. Victoria bursted into laughter. I tried to keep my compusure. It didn't work out so well. Of course I was sad. Who wouldn't be at least a little sad. But I acted as if I didn't care. I wasn't going to let that bitch have the benifit of the doubt.

Flashback

I went to the cafeteria in hopes of finding Jaylen. The auditions were happening next period and I needed him to atleast say something to me. So that I will know I'll do just fine. Him ignoring me was killing me. I went to my regular lunch table and sat down with Aqua.

"Do you know where Jaylen is?" I asked. She shook her head no. I had to pee. I sat in silence for a moment thinking about where Jaylen could be. "Can you come to the bathroom with me?"

"Sure" We walked out of the cafeteria and went around the corner. We stopped in front of the bathroom. We heard like a moan or something coming out of the girls bathroom. Me and Aqua laughed at this.

"Oo someone getting it!" Aqua giggled.

"Okay wait out here I'll go see whats going on." I opened the door slowly and walked into the bathroom. I pulled out my phone because you know if anything was "News Worthy." The noise was a little louder. I opened the first stall. My heart jumped. No one was in there. I took a sigh of relief. I was a little scated to see who was behind one of these stalls. I pressed record on my phone and went over to the next and pushed it open. I opened it and my mouth hung in awe. My phone slipped from my hands and broke.
