Around noon, you were still sleeping. You felt a pair of hands on your back gently shake you awake. You groaned and stirred a little in bed. Turning in bed, you forced your eyes open to see Tommy looking down at you. He had a wide grin on his face."Jesus finally! I've been trying to wake you for an hour!" He said, his voice cracking a bit as he raised his volume. You stared at him a bit before smiling a little.
"Hi Tommy." You giggled. His face turned a little red and his expression softened.
"Hi." He chuckled. You brushed your hair out of the way of your eyes and you sat up, stretching. You looked to him and swung your legs over your bed.
"Why are you here?" You yawned. He raised his eyebrow.
"Really? We talked about it on the phone at 4:00 today." He said. You paused and gasped as you remember.
"Oh! Oh yeah. I forgot."
"Wow. That was such an intimate moment. How dare you forget." He said. You snickered and rolled your eyes.
"Oh shut up." You said. Tommy laughed and he stood up straight.
"I'm taking you to my place. Get ready." He said, turning and leaving.
"Okay..." you yawned, standing up on shaky, sleepy legs. You walked to your closet and threw on a t-shirt and sweatpants. You didn't have much of a filter around Tommy, so worrying about what you wore around him never happened. You walked out of your room and to the bathroom. Grabbing your toothbrush and putting some toothpaste on it, you stuck your head out the door as you got the brush wet.
"Tommy can I just not wear shoes?" You asked.
"I don't care." Tommy called back from your living room.
"Okay!" You called back, brushing your teeth and then straightening your hair. You walked into the living room with your phone seeing Tommy on the couch talking to your mom who was in the doorway to the kitchen.
"I'm glad your taking the day off to make sure Y/N's mental health is okay. That's really sweet of you." She said. Tommy chuckled nervously and he shrugged.
"It's what friends are for." He said. You snickered.
"That was so cheesy." You said. Tommy jumped, realizing you were there.
"Ready to go?" He asked, standing and straightening his shirt a bit. You nodded and walked to the door. As you opened it, you turned back to Tommy. He gave a wave to your mom as he followed you out. Your mom gave a nod and wink before waving as well.
"Have fun." She said. You two closed the door behind you and you looked to him as you two walked to his car.
"What was that all about?" You asked. Tommy looked to you as he walked around to the driver's side of his car.
"What was what about?" He asked.
"My mom winked at you."
Tommy simply shrugged and you two got into his car. He started it and started driving. You looked out the window and watched the scenery pass as he drove. The radio was on, but it was pretty quiet. It was the perfect volume for having just woken up. You yawned and pressed your forehead against the window.
"Still tired?" He asked. You nodded slowly, "I bet. You stayed up until 4:00 in the morning."
You smiled and little and shrugged.
"I was able to fall asleep after talking to you." You said. It went quiet. You tensed and bit your lip, shutting yourself up. You didn't mean to say that.
"Sorry..."
"For what?"
"For saying that. It was weird."
"No no! It's not weird. I'm your best friend I sure hope that you come to me for stuff like that." He said, laughing. You smiled and looked form the window to Tommy. He looked over to you and gave you a warm smile before looking back to the road. You looked back forward and brought your knees to your chest.
When you reached his house, you got out of the car and shivered as your bare feet hit the cold concrete. You hugged your arms. It was cold in the morning. You regretted wearing only a t-shirt.
You felt an arm wrap around you and walk you to the door. You looked up to Tommy, your face bright red.
"What are—"
"You looked cold." He said. He walked you inside and closed the door, letting go of you. You walked around a bit before making your way to his room and sitting on his bed.
"Where's your mom and dad?" You asked. Tommy shrugged as he walked in, sitting beside you.
"They went out together. They said they didn't want to bother us or...something I don't know." He said. You nodded.
"Okay..."
Silence fell over the two of you as you awkwardly sat there. You looked over to him a few times before staring back forward. Tommy pulled his phone out and he began going through social media. You were still pretty tired, hence the reason you weren't too talkative. You leaned over and rested your head on his shoulder. You felt him tense and you could feel his eyes on you.
"You're still tired?" He asked. You nodded.
"I wanna sleep." You mumbled. He chuckled and patted your head.
"Then lay down and go to bed. We can hang out once you wake up." He said. You mumbled a small 'okay' and flopped over onto your back. His version of lay down was to lay in his beside that he could get up and leave you to sleep. You, on the other hand, had decided to instead lay your head in his lap and sleep there.
Tommy's face flushed bright red and he looked around, trying to figure out what to do. You were already fast asleep in his lap. He looked down to you, flustered. You looked so peaceful while sleeping. Your chest rose and fell softly and your lips were parted ever so slightly. He hesitantly reached down and began to brush your hair softly as you slept. He smiled a little to himself and decided to just let you sleep in his lap.
