(9 DAYS TILL PROM)
Sunday rolled around the next day and you didn't want to get up from bed. You had gotten no sleep the night before, spending all night texting Jacob, giggling, squealing into your pillow as you threw your phone a few times. You didn't mind being tired, though. It was worth it.
You forced yourself to sit up around noon. Your mom had come in and bugged you about getting up from bed. You had a few missed texts from Jacob. Checking your phone, you smiled and hit your nails softly.
JACOB<3
Okay gn

JACOB<3
Get any sleep???
You giggled and typed back quickly.

Just now!?!?
It's noon...

I know :[
You continued to text Jacob, giggling at your phone. You brought your knees to your chest and bit at your nails softly as you texted him.
You heard a knock at your already open door and looked over to see your mom standing there. She had an arm leaned on the door, her other hand placed on her hip.
"Who are you texting?" She asked. You smiled slyly and looked back to your phone.
"No one..."
"Is it a boy?" Your mom smirked. You giggled and set your phone down, looking to her.
"How did you know?"
"Well, when girls smile at their phone, they're usually texting someone they're fond of." She said, walking over and sitting beside you. You sat on your bed criss-cross, your hands resting on your ankles as you sighed and looked forward.
"I got Jacob's number. The boy I really like." You looked to her and she nodded, smiling.
"That's great! Honestly, I thought you were texting Tommy." You gasped and shoved your mom's arm slightly, making her laugh.
"EW MOM! We're just friends!"
"That's what most people say." She said. You crossed your arms and rolled your eyes. You could feel your face heat up a little.
"That's gross..." you muttered.
"I mean, I wouldn't judge. I think you two would be cute together." She said. You tensed, your face turning even more red.
"MOM!" You yelled, burying your head into your hands. You could hear her laughing her head off.
"Oh come on! He's not that bad."
"That's disgusting. I would never date Tommy. Not in a million years."
"Oh really?" She cocked her eyebrow.
"Yes really."
You looked to her, your eyes locking. You stared each other down before she chuckled and shook her head. She stood and patted your shoulder.
"Okay okay...but if anything does happen—"
"Mom..."
"I'm just saying! If anything does happen between you two, you have my full support." She said, walking to the door. You smiled a little.
"Thanks mom..."
She stopped at the door and looked back to you.
"He's a good kid." She said. You looked up to her and nodded, blushing a little. She turned and left your room.
"I love you!" She called behind her. You closed your eyes and sighed, chuckling softly to yourself.
"I love you, too mom." You said. You looked to your phone that had been left out beside you. You picked it up and checked your notifications.
1 missed text from JACOB<3
2 missed texts from BESTIE TOM
You raised your eyebrow and checked your text from Jacob first.
JACOB<3
Jesus get some sleep
You smiled and giggled a little to yourself. You then checked your texts from Tommy.
BESTIE TOM
hey you should hang out with me today since you love me
If you say no then that means you don't love me and I will be sad 😔
You rolled your eyes and scoffed. The "you love me" part made you pause a little, though. Going over what your mom said, that one thing that was still bugging you came back to your head. You just couldn't put your finger on it.
Ignoring the thought, you began to type back a response.

I was thinking the park downtown
there's the weekend market going on
You had forgotten about the market your town does. Downtown, a bunch of companies and small businesses come together and set up small stands, serving out foods, product samples, and more. Small bands perform down there as recognition as well. It was a nice place.
Perfect for a first date
You shook your head and pushed the thought away. Something was still bugging you. You groaned and ducked your head.
What is wrong with me
You thought. You sighed and brought your phone back up, going to respond to Tommy.
Y/N
sure!
sounds fun :]
