(4 DAYS TILL PROM)

You didn't want to get out of bed that morning. It was Friday morning. You felt mentally drained. You kept going over the conversation you ended up having with Jacob.

Tommy...Tommy and I?

Yeah. Honestly, I should've seen it before. You guys are actually a pretty cute couple.

No you don't understand--

Oh! That's the bell. I gotta go to class.

Oh...okay...bye.

You rolled over in bed, groaning. It was over. It was all over. You didn't plan on going to prom with anyone else. No one else would ask you either. Tommy was planning on asking a girl out. He won and you lost. Not only did you lose 20 dollars, but you also lost your senior prom kiss. Something you had really being looking forward to.

Forcing yourself to get up and out of bed, you felt tears prick your eyes. You hugged your arms and let out a shaky breath. Your legs shook a little as you stood. You got dressed and trudged to the bathroom. Brushing your teeth, you spit out the toothpaste and looked up into the mirror. You had bags under your eyes. You hadn't gotten much sleep the night before.

You shook your head and brushed your hair out a little. Despite how hard you tried, your hair was too frizzy to calm. You quietly cursed to yourself and set the comb down.

"I look like I was fucking electrocuted." You mumbled, walking out of the bathroom. You walked downstairs. Grabbing a granola bar and your backpack, you waved to your mom.

"I'm off to school." You said. Your mom smiled and she grabbed your arm.

"There is no school today, Y/N. I thought I told you earlier that they're taking a teacher work day for the finals." She chuckled. You sighed and dropped your bag to the floor.

"Oh my god..." you groaned. She laughed.

"You could've slept in."

"Yeah...I realize that now." You sighed and turned on your heel. Heading back to your bedroom, you slipped your shoes off. You slipped back into bed and threw your head back onto the pillow.

Your eyes fluttered shut and your breathing shallowed as you slipped into a deep sleep. You felt like you were floating. There wasn't the weight of a blanket on your body anymore. You weren't wearing sweats and a t-shirt. Instead, it felt like a dress.

A beautiful flowing dress that glided across your body as you spun slowly. It was soft, the silk felt smooth against your skin. The room you were in was a little humid, but you didn't mind. Slow music filled your ears. The kind of music that would put you in a trance. Your feet moved across the floor in small strides. You could feel a pair of arms wrapped around your waist, holding you close like you were the one thing in their life that mattered most. Your hands were on their shoulders.

No matter how hard you tried, you couldn't look up. You couldn't see the face of the man holding you. You so desperately wanted to, though. You wanted to see who would be there for you. Your eyes on his chest, you examined the nice black suit and dark red tie he had on. It was all you could take in.

You could feel his eyes on you, though. There was a warm sense around you. It was comforting. The kind of feeling that made you want to stay there forever. Your legs didn't hurt, you didn't feel tired. You just wanted to stay there.

The mystery boy pulled you closer. Your head rested on his chest and your eyes closed. He was warm. He wrapped his arms around you, hugging you close. Though, instead it felt oddly like his arms were coming from behind. Your eyebrows furrowed and your eyes opened. The warm feeling of arms around you was still there, but you were back in your room. You turned in bed and looked behind you.

Laying beside you was Tommy, his arms around you. He smiled and raised his eyebrow.

"Sup bitch." You rolled your eyes and nudged his arms off of you. He laughed and pulled away, laying beside you in bed.

"What's up?" He asked, laying on his back. You turned on your back as well and stared at the ceiling. Your shoulder brushed against his.

"Not much. Just...glad we have today off." You said. He looked to you, confused.

"You forgot?"

"Yeah. Guess it just...slipped past my mind." You said, shrugging. Tommy chuckled and he looked back to the ceiling.

"I remembered. That's why I planned on coming to hang out with you today."

"What time is it?" You asked, changing the subject. Tommy grabbed his phone from his pocket and he checked it.

"11:06." He said. You nodded and silence fell over you two. You wanted to ask about him hugging you when you woke up, but you knew that would be an awkward conversation. You decided to keep quiet about it.

"Jacob says sorry, by the way." You said. Tommy looked over to you, resting his phone on his chest.

"Why's he saying that?" He asked. Your eyes stayed glued to the ceiling.

"Because he kissed me and he thinks we're dating." You said. Tommy chuckled and he nudged your shoulder.

"Awwww and you didn't tell him we're not? Y/N~" he purred, hugging you. You scoffed and grinned, shoving him off of you.

"Oh shut up." You snickered. Tommy gave you a warm smile.

"You love me~"

"Not like that, dipshit."

"Oi! I'm not a dipshit!" He screeched. You giggled and turned to him.

"Mhm? Okay. So, hows asking that girl to prom going?" You asked. He shrugged.

"At the rate she's going with dating guys, I'm pretty sure she'll at least say yes out of pity." He said. You raised your eyebrow.

"Really? That's kind of sad." You chuckled. He crossed his arms.

"Well...u-uh...at least I'll actually have a date." He shot back.

You fell silent.
