Chapter 11: The Rescue

EJ was balling his eyes out and screaming in pain. He wasn't physically hurt, but his heart was.

"EJ! EJ! C'mon we can't stay here. We need to find the others and discuss a plan to get Ricky back." Ashlynn said to EJ, trying to get him to stop crying.

"I-I can't leave Ash. I can't leave him. I need to stay here. What if he comes back? I need to be here... for him" EJ said as he finally stopped crying.

Ashlynn didn't know what to do. She can't leave her cousin here, but she needs the help of the others and Zordon. So she calls the others to meet them at Ricky's house.

The rest of the rangers show up, looking frantic at what happened. Ashlynn explained everything to them: Ricky being the green ranger, EJ going over to his house alone to confront him, and how Ricky got kidnapped. She left out the part of the two boys kissing as that isn't her story to tell.

"EJ.." Nini said quietly.

EJ didn't respond, just rocking back and forth cradling his knees. Nini knelt down next to him and just hugged him causing EJ to just burst out in tears, placing his head in her chest.

Everyone was feeling sad for EJ and scared for Ricky, they didn't know what to do. Their leader was an emotional wreck and was not in the right headspace to be in charge, so Gina stepped up.

"Alright guys, I have a plan to get Ricky back, but it is going to be dangerous. Are you up for it?" Gina asked the group.

Everyone nodded their heads in unison, leaving EJ left to decide. "EJ?"

EJ took a deep breath, wiped his tears away, and stood up out of Nini's grip. He had a serious look on his face and in a deep voice said, "I will do ANYTHING to get Ricky back."

Everyone smiled before Gina laid out the plan. "Okay, here's the plan. We are going to Rita's liar and getting RIcky back. I know it is going to be risky, but we have to go. Big Red, Seb, and Nini go back to the command center and tell Zordon about our plan. He will be mad, but he can't stop us if we are already on the way to her and-"

"Wait!" Nini said. "Maybe we should go to Madam Zordon first.."

"WHAT! ARE YOU CRAZY?!" Carlos said. "She would kill us if she knew what we were trying to do. Like we are legit trying to break into Rita's lair.."

"I know, I know, but here me out. We have no idea what we are doing, we are just going in there based on instinct. We don't even know where to start." Nini said.

Nini was right and everyone agreed. So they decided to teleport back to the command center and tell Alpha 5 and Madam Zordon about everything.

"Listen Rangers, are you sure you want to do this?" Madam Zordon asked everyone.

They all nodded before EJ spoke up, "We need to do this, I need to do this. I need him back, Madam Zordon."

Madam Zordon's heart was touched. She was about to give them the plan, "Okay, then listen up. Rita's liar is located on the moon, the only way to get there is through her dumpster that is located in the junkyard. However, once you arrive at her lair, your ranger powers won't work. You won't be able to morph, use your communicators, or summon your zords." Everyone's face immediately dropped, feeling scared and worried some now.

"Once you get inside, grab Ricky as fast as you can and then teleport out of there using the engine room. Once you are out, your powers will be back on and you can teleport back here. Are you ready for this Rangers?" Madam Zordon asked one more time, before they agreed. "Alright. Everyone take a backpack with supplies and everything you will need. We don't know what her lair will be like, so we have to prepare for the worst."
