Chapter 5: The Mall...Date

It was Saturday morning and everyone was getting ready to head to the mall.

"I can't believe I told Ricky to wear something cute! He is probably going to freak out and never want to talk to me again. All he responded back to my text was a thumbs up. God, I'm so stupid. I hope he comes today." EJ thought to himself, while he was getting ready.

EJ was wearing a red v-neck t-shirt, black ripped jeans, and a pair of white nikes bringing his red letterman jacket in case it gets cold or if a specific someone gets cold...He had to hurry and leave soon though, since he was picking up Ashlynn and Big Red from their houses.

EJ arrived at Ashlynn's house, honking the horn for her to come out. "Geez, did you have to honk so many times." Ashlynn said, while getting into EJ's dark black Jeep.

"Hey, just be grateful I'm picking you up." EJ said with a chuckle as Ashlynn punched him in the arm. "OW!"

"You okay, Eej?

"Yeah, no. I'm good." On the inside though, he was so nervous!

They arrived at the mall waiting for their rest of the friends to show up. Gina arrived with Nini holding hands with Kourtney trailing behind them looking suspicious of the two. A few minutes later, Carlos arrived with Seb holding hands with Carlos congratulating Seb.

"Hey guys!" Ash said to the two boys. "What are we congratulating Seb for?"

"CAUSE HE GOT HIS POWER!" Carlos shouted to the group.

"OH MY GOD SEB! CONGRATS! What is it?" Nini said, hugging the blonde boy.

"I can talk to animals! That is probably why Zordon wanted me to work with the zords, she knew I would be able to talk to animals eventually." Seb said with a huge grin on his face.

"That's amazing Seb! You need to tell me why my dog keeps on barking at the mailman. Cause it's annoying." Kourtney said jokingly, while everyone just laughed.

"C'mon let's go shopping! I need some new pink skirts." Gina said to the group, grabbing Nini's hand and running inside the mall. Everyone started to enter the mall, except for EJ.

"EJ, you coming?" Ash asked her cousin.

"Oh-uh Ricky is supposed to show up." He checks his phone and sees that it's 11:35am.

"Oh crap! That's right! I forgot. Hey guys!" Ashlynn turns to yell at her friends to stop. "The new guy Ricky is coming. Let's wait for him"

"No, no it's okay. You guys, don't have too, I'll just wait for him. You guys go ahead, we will catch up with you all." EJ said to his friends before they could say anything about Ricky.

"You sure?" Gina asked, looking at Nini with a smirk on her face.

"Yeah, it's no problem. Go on! Go shopping! I know Carlos and Kourt take forever, so we won't miss anything" EJ said to his friends. Carlos and Kourt gasped at his response, but knew it was true.

"Kk, but don't wait too long. Or else the food court is going to get super crowded." Ashlynn said to her cousin as she headed inside the mall with her friends.

10 minutes passed by and no sign of Ricky. "Okay, I'm going to give him 10 more minutes and then if I don't see or hear from, I'll go inside." EJ said to himself.

5 minutes later Ricky comes skating down the sidewalk, all out of breath, sweating, and looking exhausted. "God, he looks so cute." EJ thought to himself.
