Chapter 16: Redlyn Date

"Ash, where are you taking me??" Big Red said as Ashlyn had transported them to the middle of a parking lot?

"Trust me biggie, you are going to love it!" Ash said, pulling Big Red's hand leading him out of the parking structure.

"TA-DA!"

"A closed street filled with people?"

"No biggie! It's a farmer's market!! I thought it would be a cute date for us. We could pick some fruit, grab some fresh food, and then go back and cook everything and have a romantic dinner."

"Ohhhh I get it! That sounds amazing Ash! I would love that!!" Big Red said kissing Ashlyn, while holding hands starting their journey through the farmer's market.

"So what should we cook Ash?"

"Mhmm I'm thinking: apple cranberry salad, black bean burgers, sweet potato fries, and for dessert strawberry cheesecake?" Ashlyn said with a big smile on her face.

Now Big Red was a good boyfriend and all, but he was an even better boyfriend for changing his eating habits around Ash. Big Red is not used to eating so "healthy" as he would just eat free pizza from his shop, but when he and Ashlyn got together she changed him. However, he wasn't fully vegetarian like Ash, but he was willing to try new things... just for her.

"Sure babe, that sounds good." Big Red said, causing Ash to hug him.

"Lead the way, ma lady"

As the two were shopping for their supplies, Big Red thought it would be a good idea to talk about the newest couple in their lives.

"Can you believe RIcky and EJ!" Big Red said.

"I know!! I mean I know my cousin falls hard for people, but he fell HARD for Ricky and quick!"

"Right! And I didn't expect Ricky to accept him so quick. EJ can be a lot."

"Oh I know, trust. But he seems happy, they seem happy together. After Ricky got kidnapped by Rita, EJ was devastated. You could see his heart shatter. My poor cousin."

"I felt so bad for him. But hey at least they're together now and all over each other."

"I know! So much PDA, but it's cute. They are in love!"

"Just like us." Big Red said, twirling Ashlynn around and giving her a sweet kiss.

"You know, since we are probably going to be double dating with them alot, you should get to know Ricky more. You probably have a lot more in common than you think" Ash said.

"Really, you think?"

"Yeah! I mean besides you both dating a Caswell, you both ride skateboards, eat a ton of pizza, and he probably has the same personality as you."

"Mhm, yeah you're right. Maybe I will reach out to him. It will be kind of good to get to know him when EJ isn't around and they are all making out with each other."

"Ew gross. I can't picture my cousin "making out" with someone.. Especially not someone we know."

"Yeah that is pretty gross." Big Red said making a barfing noise and pretended to shake it off.

"Now come on, we are almost done shopping! We have that dinner date to cook for" Ash said.

The two were just about to get their last ingredients for dinner date now, when they saw the crates shake and the ground rattle.

"Oh no, another earthquake?" Big Red said, causing Ash to become worried.

"it can't be!"

"Look!" Big Red said, pointing to the ground ahead. The gravel started to crack and steam came from underneath it... Then out of nowhere a giant Earth monster rose!

"Oh no... this can't be happening! I thought we destroyed Rita and all of her monsters! Why is there a monster here?" Ashlyn was panicking and was scared about what was going to happen next.

"Ash, listen to me. We have to help these people." Big Red was trying to calm his girlfriend down.

"I-I don't know Biggie, I thought we were done with this. I want to be done with all of these monsters."

"I know Ash, but these people need our help. And I can't do this alone."

"Okay, Biggie. I will help."

The couple ran to the nearest empty, dark alley away from everyone so they could morph.

"Okay, ready?"

"Ready."

"IT'S MORPHIN TIME!"

"Brown Ranger Power"

"Blue Ranger Power"

The two rangers sprung into action right to fight the monster ahead of them. Ashlyn rushed to get the remaining people out of the farmer's market, while Big Red went to attack the monster.

Big Red was trying to fight the monster, but all of his attacks weren't working as the monster was legit made out of rock. "Good thing, I have a power drill." Big Red summoned his weapon and it immediately knocked the monster to the ground. He was doing some damage to the monster, but not that much.

"Ash! Go to the roof and distract him."

"Right!"

Ashlyn ran up the stairs of the nearest building and summoned her bow and arrow. She started shooting the rock monster, getting its attention off of her boyfriend, so he can attack the monster. She was starting to run out of arrows, it was now or never for Big Red to make his move.

"Now Biggie!"

"Power Drill, FULL POWER!" Big Red shouted as he struck the monster. The rock monster shattered, causing all of the rocks to scatter among the mess of the farmer's market.

"Great job, Biggie. I knew my strong, powerful boyfriend could take the monster down all by himself" Ashlyn said, giving Big Red a kiss.

"Oh Ash!" Big Red was blushing, his face was redder than his hair.

The two rangers powered down in the alley and went back to the farmer's market to help clean up the mess the monster made.

As Big Red and Ashlyn were cleaning up the farmer's market, they noticed there was no sign of rocks or any part of the monster. They saw the monster get shattered into pieces and saw the rocks scatter throughout the market, but where was it?

"Hey, Ash. Do you see any rocks?" Big Red whispered to his girlfriend.

"I was just thinking about that and no I don't.. This is so weird!"

"I know! Let's finish cleaning up here, then we should go check in with Madam Zordon and let her know what happened here."

"But what about our date??" Ashlyn asked in a cute pouty face.

"You know that Caswell charm only works on Ricky.." Big Red said, causing Ash to laugh, but she continued to have the potty dog face.

"C'mon Biggie.. Pleeeassseeeee"

"Fine, we will go on our date. Then afterwards, we go straight to Madam Zordon."

"Deal!" Ashlyn kissed Big Red on the cheek. "Now c'mon, we have a whole meal to cook!"

The two cleaned up the farmer's market and then went back to Ashlyn's house to cook their dinner, but in the back of Big Red's mind he was still thinking about those missing rocks.

Was the rock monster really gone?
