"They don't understand."

Screaming and crying filled the halls of Northwest Manor. It was not audible to anybody but the servants and the family, so luckily the public would never know why they were yelling so loud.

Inside the manor, Pacifica was storming up to her bedroom. Awhile ago, she would have thrown a hissy fit over a servant buying her the wrong lipstick. Now, she was throwing a hissy fit because her parents had found out about her little "outings" with Dipper. It wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't told her that he was not somebody she could spend time with. They insisted that he was not worth her time, that she should only be interested in rich boys and continuing the line of wealth. She was the first girl in a long line of male Northwests, and since the family would likely have a different last name, her parents at least wanted her to marry a wealthy man. She was confused to why they even thought that Dipper would be a potential suitor for her. They were twelve! Well, Dipper was almost thirteen. He'd be turning thirteen at the end of the summer. But she didn't get the whole point of why her parents told her that he was useless to her, and somebody she didn't want to spend time with.

So she sat in her bedroom, on her canopy bed, crying. Dark mascara was running down her cheeks along with her tears. Her breathing was coming out as shaky sobs. She wanted nothing more than to fall in to Dipper's arms and cry. Since she couldn't do that, she wiped her nose with the sleeve of her purple designer jacket and picked up her cellphone. She dialed Dipper's number, and waited for him to pick up. Unfortunately, it went to voice mail, so she left a message.

"Dipper uh... H-hi... It's um... Pacifica. I'm calling you because I just really, really need to talk to you. Could you maybe meet me in the forest, at five thirty? It would mean a lot to me. It's okay if you can't, but if you need me, know that I'll be there. Okay... Er... Bye."

She let out a small sigh that was a mixture of relief and sadness. She was excited to talk to Dipper, but she was sad about what she had to tell him. She knew she definitely wasn't going to stop seeing him any time soon, no matter what her stupid parents thought. It was odd, the way Dipper made her feel. She'd never felt that way before, with the pounding heart and the butterflies. And that wonderful sensation of being liked by somebody which she could feel in her chest, making her want to laugh for no reason. Before him, she hadn't really felt that way about anybody else. Even her ex boyfriend. It gave her someone to care about, someone to think about. It made her feel at peace. She wouldn't allow her parents to ruin that with their rules. She would stay on Cloud Nine if she wanted to, and nobody would be able to tell her otherwise. Tears would no longer flow freely from her eyes with him around unless she wanted them to. Nobody would hurt her if he was there. They were too young to call it love, but it was that kind of special something that made her feel like she wrapped up in a warm blanket of something comforting.

She didn't bother waiting for him to call back or leave a text message. She had no desire to stay at home for even a moment longer, her heart was telling her she had to see him and she had to see him soon. If only she could do it in secret, so her parents wouldn't find out. As much as she loved her servants, who had always been kind to her, she knew she couldn't trust them to keep her rendezvous a secret from her parents. She'd done something that bold once, and paid the price for it.
"I need to stop thinking about all of this..." She murmured "Everything's in my head right now, I just need to clear my mind. But I can't do that until I find a way out!"
She sighed, standing up and walking over to her balcony, leaning against it. The wind rippled through her blonde hair, but she didn't even bother to grumble about it. All she could do was stare out over the quiet little town, watching as people laughed and talked in the streets. Riches were nice and all, but sometimes she wondered what it was like to be regular. People always expected her to be perfect, which was something she couldn't do. Somehow she always managed to mess it up, to her parents' dismay. Their hunger for more money and popularity clouded them. Sometimes they were so hung up on it that they forgot they even had a daughter who was living and breathing. Who just wanted to live a life that wasn't all regular but wasn't all fancy either. Something in between.

Her eyes went down to her phone, and she brought it up closer to her face. No missed calls, no new messages. She let out a small sigh.
"Paz!" A voice called from somewhere, but she couldn't detect where "Paz!"
Her eyes linked with the little part of town below Northwest Manor, and that's where she saw Dipper and Mabel yelling and waving. God, were they loud! It took a lot of work for people to yell that loud to talk to somebody in Northwest Manor.
"Hey guys!" She yelled back just as loudly, waving excitedly. So that's why Dipper hadn't been answering his phone. Suddenly, her phone lit up with a new text message from him.

"You wanna come get dinner with us?"
"Absolutely!" She texted back, smiling.

And as you know, her parents were furious. But all in all, she didn't really care.
