"Thanks for coming to Tiffany's party with me," Pacifica told Dipper, wearing her signature Northwest smirk. She'd have to be on her worst behaviour as this was a public endeavour. "It would have been much lamer without you."

"No problem," He tried to reply cooly, rather than making his admiration for Pacifica obvious. She was wearing her usual hoop earrings and a tight turquoise dress paired with a gold belt. She'd put her hair up in to a ponytail so you could truly see her face, as well as the work of art that was her make-up. Dipper felt honoured to be going to a party with a girl as pretty as her. Not that he was going to tell her that... She'd never let him live it down.

"Just a warning, everybody in here is probably going to be very vain and all... So..." She didn't meet his eyes, but he knew she felt bad about it. Still, he was the one who had insisted on coming so she'd actually enjoy herself. She's accepted because she knew that he was right and that he probably wouldn't take no for an answer.

"It's okay, I can handle vain. I hang out with you, don't I?" He teased, elbowing Pacifica lightly. She snickered and elbowed him back, despite the fact that the idea of being called vain didn't sit well with her. She didn't want to cause any problems so she kept her mouth shut.

"Alright alright. Let's just ring the doorbell." She replied. She pressed the doorbell forcefully as she began to change her stance entirely. She'd gone from her casual self to her very posh, rich girl self. The two of sides of the same coin.

The door opened quickly to reveal a dark-haired girl. Dipper could only assume that this was Tiffany. "Pacifica! Oh em gee, it is sooooo good to see you!" The girl exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around Pacifica. She didn't sound quite as happy as she should have, but many girls "hate each other in secret" according to Mabel. That seemed like the possible relationship between this girl and Pacifica.

As the girls pulled back from the hug, Dipper felt this girl's eyes settle on him. "And who is this?" She asked with a smirk on her face. She glanced him up and down, as if she liked what she saw.

"This is my... friend. Dipper."

The word friend stung so much more than it should have. Perhaps things were still a little rough with Pacifica after all.

"Dipper. What a stupid name." The girl rolled her eyes, "Did your parents hate you?"

"It's uh... It's a nickname actually." He replied. "Nobody really calls me by my real name anymore."

"Whatever. Just get in here already," The girl huffed, pulling the two of them in to the house. It was bursting with bodies dancing to blaring music. Dipper hated this already. He could tell Pacifica did too.

"Help yourself to whatever," She told them, pretending to be nice again. "Just don't destroy anything unless you want to pay for it." She shot a dirty look at Dipper before strutting away.

"Yeesh, what's her problem?" Pacifica snickered. It was clear she was still going to be herself when other fake people were around.

"I have no idea. So that's Tiffany, I'm guessing?" He replied, scratching his neck awkwardly.

"Yeah," She nodded, "She's a bit of a let down, really. I'm only friends with her because she's "good for my image" according to my parents. What a stupid reason to be friends with somebody."

"Well your parents are the presidents of stupid."

"I think you mean ambassadors," She laughed.

"I think I mean King and Queen of stupid."

"Yeah! More of a monarchy and less of a democracy."

The two of them laughed together, not even realizing that a few pairs of eyes had settled on them. Everybody was probably expecting Pacifica to want to mingle, and they were also expecting her to not show up with Dipper. Sure, he looked much nicer than usual (he actually showered! It was a miracle), but he was still shabby Dipper Pines. Not exactly the right guy for the flawless Pacifica Northwest.
