Dipper scaled the wall as best he could, his heart pounding as he did so. Thoughts raced through his mind, but none were about normal things. It was mostly how he was going to help Mabel and save Pacifica and who had been talking to him before. He had never seen the figure, only heard a voice. Still, he tried to follow the voice's advice. Maybe it had been someone who really did care.
He was slipping around on the top of the manor now, rain continuing to soak the roof and him. He could see Wendus Demius on top of the roof, but she wasn't close enough to him for him to attack. She wasn't harming Pacifica yet, either, which was a relief. He could still hear Pacifica's screams, though.
"Dipper! Please, help me! Dipper! Mabel! Help!"
Wendus Demius hadn't bothered to silence her. She seemed to enjoy hearing the girl's screams. That made Dipper feel sick to his stomach. He still thought of her as Wendy, the cool cashier from the Mystery Shack, not the demon she really was. The one that enjoyed hearing the desperate squeals of a twelve year old girl who hadn't done anything to deserve that punishment. Even if she had been mean to Mabel awhile ago...
He bolted towards Pacifica and Wendus Demius, almost slipping a few times.
"Hold on Paz, I'm coming!" He yelled out to her, going as fast as he could. She yelled something back to him, but he couldn't quite catch all of her words. He hoped it wasn't something that might have been important for him to know. He scrambled up to the part where Pacifica and Wendus Demius were, huffing and puffing a bit."Impressive. The brave little hero has come to save the princess. I didn't think you'd make it this far, Dipper." She grinned a bit with an evil sort of glint in her eye. Dipper had had enough, he just wanted to make all of this go away. Why had he ever trusted her? Why did he ever like her? She was a fake. He gritted his teeth, withdrawing a dagger. He'd found it in Pacifica's room- when they had gone on one of their dates, she'd told him that she sometimes got scared of the thought of demons, so she kept a silver dagger underneath her pillow. And that's exactly where he'd found it. He wondered why he hadn't been smart enough to think of that, he maybe could have used that if Bill came back to attack him and Mabel.... And possibly even Pacifica, too. He gripped the dagger in his hand, running at Wendus Demius.
She flung Pacifica off her shoulder. The blonde screeched, but caught herself at the end of the roof instead of slipping off. She wouldn't be able to hang on for long, but she was safe for the time being. She wanted to scream for him, but he wouldn't have been able to help him. Dipper would be able to beat the demon who had brought her up here. She had complete and total faith in him. Now all that was left to do was wait, if she even had time for that. She was gripping the edge of the roof so tightly that her knuckles were turning white, but she didn't care. The last thing she wanted to do was fall off.
"Alright, demon," she heard Dipper said firmly "Let's dance." She rolled her eyes and groaned.
"He did not just say that."The fight between Wendus Demius began quickly, with Dipper refusing to stay still. He was gripping Pacifica's dagger in his hand and trying to find the best place to stab Wendus Demius. He didn't even know where to stab- after all, he needed to kill the demon. It could be the heart... But it also could be the head. It felt like a game of Russian roulette. He bit his lip, still moving around as the demon did. She raised an eyebrow at him and chuckled...
"How stupid are you? This is a fight. Go on, take your best shot, kid."
Dipper gripped the dagger tighter and gritted his teeth. Pacifica blushed, finding him hot when he was angry. Ugh, what would her parents say if they knew that she had feelings for a regular guy, a member of the Pines family no less? Why was she even thinking about this right now? If she and Dipper didn't get out of the situation alive, she wouldn't have to worry about it! She bit her lip, watching Dipper start to run at Wendus Demius with full force. The beastly woman just created a force field that bounced him off."Dipper!" She couldn't keep herself from crying out his name. He was going to be alright... Right? She forced herself up as best she could on two arms, and made it on to a slightly better portion of the roof. Hmm... Those climbing lessons that her parents had paid for actually came in handy. Who knew? She shook that out of her head, scrambling over to Dipper. She knelt down next to him. She could see blood soaking through his shirt.
"Dipper! You're bleeding!"
"I.... I know...." He was practically choking on his words. He looked as if his eyes might close soon. She bit her lip, holding back tears. He couldn't die. He was Dipper, the great monster hunter. It was impossible for him to die, right? He couldn't. He always survived every situation, no matter what it was. But he looked so weak and fragile. He appeared pale and tired. She placed her hand on his cheek."Please stay with me, come on, Dipper! You can't die yet!"
"I... I don't know if I can."
"Please," Tears began to slide down her face as she said this. They weren't slow tears, either, but fast and hot ones. "Don't go. There's so much left for you to do with your life. Just hold on, please! My heart is shattering at the thought of you dying... I don't know what's been going on with me for the past little while, and I don't know if I can call it love because we're just kids and we're way over our heads sometimes b-but I really like you! I think I always have, and I just was too scared to admit it before. But Dipper please, I need you to stay with me. You make me strong."Dipper looked up at her, forcing his brown eyes open a bit wider.
"I like you too, Pacifica... I like you more than I've liked any other girl in a long time, even who I thought was Wendy.""Aww look, they're having a tender moment." Wendus Demius laughed "Alright, place your bets, how soon is he going to die?"
Pacifica picked up her dagger, which had fallen out of Dipper's hand. She was furious that Wendus Demius had done that to Dipper. To her Dipper. She wasn't going to let that demon get out of this alive. She ran at her, so fast that the force field couldn't be activated in time. She stabbed the beast straight in the heart, feeling satisfied with the loud shriek that Wendus Demius left out.
"Nobody hurts Dipper."
