I'll miss you

"I have no idea why we're doing this!" Pacifica giggled as she ran, her blonde hair flowing behind her in a way that was mesmerizing to Dipper.

"I don't know either," He replied, a blush tinting his cheeks bright pink. She could've sworn his cheeks were almost the same colour as her t-shirt, which was a pomegranate pink.

"Who cares!" She cheered, "It's going to be fun!"

She wasn't exactly wrong about that. Though playgrounds were made for children, the two had decided that that was where their next "date" would be. Why? Just because they felt like it. Besides, it would still be fun, even if they were probably too old for it.

When they arrived, the playground did not have a single child or parent near it. They'd made sure to come at dinner time for most people, so they could be as goofy and weird as possible without Pacifica being judged. Her parents didn't even know that she was out doing this, they thought she was at Tiffany's house. The last thing she and Dipper wanted was for her to get caught out with him, because they both knew that her parents weren't exactly fond of the brown-haired boy. Her parents had even called him a "peasant" before.

"What are we even going to do when we get there?!" Dipper asked her, still watching her with interest. She just shot him back a cute smile and shrugged a little. Her cheeks were tinted a light pink, and... God, she was just so cute! He didn't know how he hadn't noticed it before.

"We're going to go be kids again!" She whooped as they approached the playground, which stood tall and proud. It was colourful and inviting, like it was fun for anyone of any age. It was pretty big, and had a lot of interesting pieces to it that could enter kids (or in this case, Dipper and Pacifica) for hours. Pacifica was in a brand of awe, as she'd never been to a playground to actually use it before. That was another thing her parents blacklisted- playgrounds. She wasn't allowed to get dirty and run and play with the other kids. She had to stand by, her perfect blonde hair tied up in to two pigtails and her body covered by a designer pink dress. And she only would have been six!

Dipper caught the sparkle in Pacifica's eye as they approached, his heart starting to beat faster. He couldn't help but smile, it was nice to see her so happy and so excited. He was expanding her horizons, showing her things she'd never seen before. And she loved them all so much. It was so nice to see somebody taking interest in the things he had to show.

As soon as the two of them got to the playground, Pacifica was ecstatic. She was grinning, flashing her beautiful smile for Dipper to admire.

"What do you want to do first, Pacifica?" Dipper asked, folding his arms across his chest. He didn't even have time to react when she grabbed his arm and pulled him along.

"I already have it planned out, Dip," She informed him, winking a little, "First, we'll start with a classic- the slide."

She led him up the stairs proudly, sitting down and then beckoning him to position himself so he was kind of sitting around her, which made him blush. Was it just her, or did he blush really easily? She felt his hands wrap around her waist, which only made her snuggle in.

The two twelve year olds had a brief moment of relaxation before Dipper pushed off and the two went speeding down the slide. Pacifica had closed her eyes and squealed, though it was nothing too extreme.

"Did you enjoy that, Paz?" He snickered, earning a huge grin and wink from her before she leapt to her feet, tearing herself away from him faster than he liked. The feeling of closeness with her had been quite pleasant, he wish he could have had more time to enjoy it.

"Definitely," She confirmed, winking at him, "Thanks for taking me here!"

"No problem," He said, giggling a bit awkwardly (Dipper would only describe it as "giggling", the word "chuckling" sounded so ugly to him.)

Pacifica was practically dragging him around from place to place on their adventure in the playground. Never would he have thought that Pacifica Northwest could have that much energy. It was like she'd drank four shots of Mabel Juice. Insane.

She brought him from one piece of equipment to the next, doing everything she could in the time that they had there. There was so much childish glee on her face that made her so adorable, Dipper wasn't sure he was going to be able to stand it. Monkey bars, slides, teeter totters, and so much more captured all of this so perfectly. Dipper wanted this image of Pacifica to stay in his mind forever, he even after the summer was over, and he had to go back to Piedmont. Piedmont... He hadn't thought about home for awhile.

"Dipper, what's wrong?" Pacifica asked him suddenly, looking at him with concern, "Your mood just kind of... Dropped. Are you alright?"

He shrugged a little. "Yeah, I guess. I was just... Thinking."

"What were you thinking about?" She asked, sitting down on a swing so they could have more of a serious talk. He hated that he'd interrupted her, but she clearly wanted to help, so he was allowing her to.

"It's just... I'm remembering the fact that I have to go home at the end of the summer." He murmured, biting his lip as he sat down next to her, "As comforting as home is, I think I'd miss everything here too much. There's still so much I need to do in terms of mysteries, and I don't know what I'm going to do without you around to hang out with me, and Mabel to spend time with me..."

"Mabel's your best friend and sister."

"But she has friends. I don't."

"Sure you do. You have me."

"I meant like... Friends in Piedmont, you know?" He sighed, rubbing his temples, "Everybody at my school thinks I'm insane. They're always making fun of me for one reason or another. Oh look, Dipper thinks that zombies are real! Oh look, Dipper's reading another nerd book again! Can't wait for Dipper to solve the mystery of why he can't get any girls to like him! I wouldn't want to spend time with a kid who has a stupid birthmark on his forehead!" He imitated the voices of his classmates, scowling as he recalled all of these insults.

"Birthmark?" was the first thing she blurted out, purely by accident. She was in the process of thinking of something to say to him, but her curiosity about this birthmark of his had made it's way out of her mouth first.

Dipper blushed a bit before taking his hat off and moving up his hair, revealing the Big Dipper on his forehead. Pacifica stared for a moment before smiling.
"That is the cutest thing I have ever seen."

"I'm not cute!" Dipper insisted, frustrated until he realized that Pacifica had just called him cute. His face started to turn bright red. "W-wait... What?"

"I find it cute. I mean, what's so bad about it? It's something that makes you special, different from everybody else. I've never met anybody who has a birthmark quite like yours." She replied, tucking some of her blonde hair behind her ear, "I just think it's a cute little thing to have. My birthmark isn't that cool."

Dipper smiled. "Thanks, Pacifica."

"No need to thank me." She responded, "And as for the situation with going home for the summer, you won't miss too much. If you want I can video chat with you like your servant and his girlfriend do. That way, I can update you on everything that's happening in Gravity Falls. Plus, Mabel can probably help you make some new friends. I mean, there's gotta be somebody who thinks you're pretty cool, it can't just be Mabel and I. I can help you too. You're a great guy, Dipper. Anybody would be lucky to be around you."

"Thanks, Pacifica."

"No, thank you, Dipper."
