Federation Protection Zone 10, B City.

At some point, a horror game, Ancient Gods Simulator, started circulating on the internet. No one knows who the developer of the game is, or how the game spread, except that when people really took notice of it, there were already many strange comments about the game on the internet. Many people have given it bad reviews, saying that the game doesn't work, that the main character always dies inexplicably while the plot is unfolding and investigating a case, and that the whole game is so unplayable that it's impossible to beat it, so much so that it's been around for so long without a cheat sheet.

On top of that, the evil god that runs through the plot but never really shows up in this game is physically uncomfortable and mentally polluting, and even the family members who believe in this evil god have a disgusting appearance that makes you sick to your stomach. But if that were all, this not-so-great game wouldn't be good enough to get such wide circulation. The creepiest part of the game was the number of players who had mental breakdowns during the game, seemingly frightened and depressed by the fictional gods they had never heard of, who only appeared in the game, and who were even sent to mental hospitals and made the social news.

As a result, the game began to create a lot of debate on the internet. Unlike the compassionate gods preached by real-world religions, this unheard-of deity is a completely evil god. This unheard-of deity is completely evil. He treats humans like nothing and brings back the fear of the unknown, which is deep in the genes of people who have forgotten their fear of gods in the technological age.

The night is falling.

The night is sinking, the lights in the centre of the city are few, the sound of people is inaudible, and only the moon hangs in the sky, shedding its light on a house whose exterior walls are covered with vines.

On the first floor, in a slightly dimly lit room, a handsome young man with short black hair is sitting at his computer desk, intently pressing his gamepad. He was playing the much-ballyhooed game, Ancient Gods Simulator. As a native of Earth, Zen was quite familiar with the term "Ancient Gods", which was a well-known term in the Cthulhu mythology system. He had played a lot of games in the Cthulhu mythology genre, so he had some knowledge of the genre.

The "ancient gods" were a very important group of gods in this mythology.

In the Cthulhu mythology, the gods are divided into two camps, the Ancient Gods and the Old Dominion. The word "Cthulhu" in Cthulhu mythology, for example, is derived from Cthulhu, the Ruler of the Old Days, and the Ancient Gods are the ones who seal the Ruler of the Old Days. They are both rivals, but they have one thing in common: mystery and unknown. In the Cthulhu mythological system, the gods do not care about humans, just as humans do not pay attention to an ant at their feet, even if the ant goes crazy to worship and sacrifice to Him. What is worse than an ant is that humans do not actually have the means to perceive the gods, and even the mere sight of them can drive them into madness because they cannot bear the enormous amount of information contained in the gods themselves, which is called "indescribable, inaccessible and untouchable" and "the more you know, the madder you get".

The Cthulhu myths are a series of myths of the mysterious and unknown that emerge from this basic setting. In these tales, humans usually take on the role of investigators who act as explorers and then, in their constant quest for knowledge, become insane and their sanity recedes, in the better cases going mad after witnessing the truth, or, in the worse cases, being killed by the gods' familiars in the course of their quest. The gods in the stories are often ignorant of this, for, after all, they do not care about mere humans; everything is a human's choice.

There is no denying that such a unique and mysterious style is fascinating. With this in mind, looking at the slightly rough 3D models on the computer screen in front of him, Zen couldn't help but be a little distracted. The game is indeed in a Cthulhu style, but the production is much rougher than those 3A masterpieces of the previous world, not to mention the game models that are not moving, even the signature Cthulhu flesh and blood style is done in a way that makes people want to yawn, without the slightest sense of horror.
