He could not understand his father's words.

Turning his head to look out the door, he was horrified to see that the people outside the house wore the same excited expression as his father's, and could even be described as ecstatic, kneeling on the ground with tears streaming down their faces as if they were worshipping some great immortal god, full of reverence and worship.

The atmosphere of fervent faith gave one a creepy feeling. Under such a terrifyingly huge blurred human form, how could anyone be so fervently ecstatic to kneel and worship instead of running for their lives?

Did it mean that none of them could see the terror of this demon?

Li Zuo trembled as he looked at the figure high above the sky that slowly leaned down to look over, his pupils clenching as he asked his father if he could see anything in the sky. Li's reply was that of course, he could.

He said that the great Budhha had returned to save humans from the ghosts and demons of the world.

What was father talking about?

Li Zuo looked incredulously at his father, whose face was flushed and whose eyes were shining, and was so shocked by the tears and fervour in those eyes that his face turned white. He did not know what the world looked like to others, but in his eyes, it was gradually crumbling. Everyone was enveloped in that grey mist, endless flesh and blood were climbing up, even his father was tainted with bits of blood.

One pair of eyes, in particular, was so bright that it was astonishing, and it was as if abominable flesh sprouts were spreading and spreading within the pupils, thriving beneath the skin.

"The Buddha has revealed his spirit! May you bless our human race!!!"

"May the Buddha have mercy on us!"

On the streets, the people who were still fleeing in haste also calmed down and knelt on the ground with unprecedented devotion, kowtowing towards the sky, exuberant to the extreme. Especially when they saw the giants screaming in agony in the grey fog, they were so excited that tears flowed down their faces, thinking that the human race would be saved. In everyone's eyes, high in the sky was a great golden Buddha, sitting on the clouds, his eyebrows without sorrow or joy.

The indistinct and compassionate sound of the Buddha's voice curled around the city, and everyone who heard it could not help but kneel down with folded hands and give thanks for the blessing of the Buddha. The stillness and peace of mind brought by the sound of the Buddha's voice made people feel like they were in a deep mountain temple, and the spring water chilled away all fear and anxiety. The entire frontier city echoed with the sound of this chanting scripture, golden lotuses blossomed everywhere, the ceiling fell, and the sky became filled with a bright and soft glow, overflowing with light, like the Buddha's kingdom on earth.

This was the first time that the Buddha, who was believed in by the human race, had truly appeared on earth to bless His pious people so that the believers could shine under the Buddha's light.

"Buddha's light shines forth! Buddha's light shines forth!"

The people were all cheering, and only Li Zuo still paused inside the door, looking through the gap between the door and window at the blurred human form that looked down and the people who were gradually going mad, their bodies entwined with blood and flesh. Everyone's face was entwined with blood and flesh, yet their eyes were filled with a frenzied glow, their expressions exaggerated as if they were seeing a beautiful, perfect world, so exuberant that their souls trembled.

"My son, why don't you go out? The Buddha is just outside the door!"

Behind him, a confused voice came from Li, who couldn't wait to join the kneeling people and kneel down to worship the manifest Buddha, so that he could witness his devotion. At these words, Li Zuo's breath trembled as his eyes froze and he shed tears of blood, slowly turning back to look at his father, and at the sight of the face distorted by blood and flesh, he finally could not bear it any longer and let out a miserable cry of utter misery.
