Chapter 30 - Arrival

"There are fewer and fewer new people coming in lately,there used to be new people joining the team almost every day and now we haven't seen an increase in the number of people on the panel for a week straight." Lan Qi, the long-haired girl in the group, looked at the information panel in front of her and frowned as she complained.

A few of the other team members also started talking about the weirdness of the Main Space lately, although they didn't stay here with the delusion that they would live long, the Machine's wrongness still made them feel uneasy about their future.

"Do you guys feel as if the Machine is afraid of something?" One of the taller members of the team, also spoke up, looking hesitant.

Since one day a week ago, the Machine had blocked several copies of the game with a modern background and even withdrew the props obtained from the game copies, and strictly forbade players from talking about them in the Lord God space. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence can guess that something unusual must have happened in those copies that were beyond the Machine's control, just by looking at the frequent changes to its panel in the past few days, adding all sorts of inexplicable detection functions, one can see the Lord God's unease and panic.

There must have been something that scared the Lord God and made it panic like a bird of prey, and it is still panicking. They couldn't imagine that the Lord God, who was so powerful that he could manipulate countless spaces and countless terrifying copies, would have something to fear, or even be terrified of it.

This suspicion still struck them as absurd, and they even suspected that they were overthinking it, but judging from the Machine's recent uncool demeanour, it was the most likely one. Their lives were nothing more than game data in the eyes of the Lord God, less than ants that could be wiped out at the snap of his fingers, so how powerful and irresistible could the existence that such a powerful being feared be?

The seven people who had been ordinary people before entering the space of the Lord God were silent when they thought of this. Looking back, before they entered the Main Space they were all just ordinary people, some were ordinary workers, some were small bosses, and some were students, living the most ordinary of lives, thinking they would spend their lives as ordinary people in the real world. Never encountering any transcendent events, and never thought there were transcendent events in this world, but they were caught in the Main Space by accident, and from then on there was nowhere to escape.

They thought that this was the most terrifying reality of the peaceful world, that the Machine was the most terrifying controller in the world, and that they dreamed of escaping from its clutches, not even thinking of destroying it, knowing that they would never be able to do so, not even with all the power of humanity.

Only now, however, did they realise that the Machine was nothing and that there were even more terrifying beings who could scare it like a quail. The world turned out to be so dangerous, like an endless sea. As they sank, they saw countless horrible beings, until finally, when they reached the bottom of the sea, they thought that this was the most terrifying place of all, only to find that beneath the sea was a depth that no human being had ever explored, a depth that was immeasurably dark.

The crowd did not dare to speculate further, for such speculation made their souls tremble and their minds shake, and they became more and more aware of the smallness and patheticness of mankind.

"...... Well, let's not talk about it, let's finish the mission first and get back as soon as possible, the later the better." The cold-looking slim man, the captain Qi Fang, spoke out to interrupt the silence of the crowd, he checked the mission given by the main god, his eyebrows incomparably silent.
