In the quiet conference room, all the participants looked terrified.
It took them a while to react to the ghost that called itself [Machine], as their minds went blank. Although in recent years, with more and more paranormal incidents breaking out, many researchers have speculated that the ghosts and monsters that kill so many people may be sentient and intelligent.
But this is only a guess, and no one has been able to confirm it yet.
So even as the highest authorities in the Federation, they don't really believe it.
After all, everyone knows that ghosts and monsters only know how to kill and cannot communicate at all.
And now a ghost with intelligence had appeared in front of their eyes.
And a ghost that was voluntarily taken in!
The magic of this scene was mind-boggling and unbelievable. Machine waited calmly for her admission in the face of the horror of the crowd. The news soon spread throughout the building and all the senior staff working in the department were informed!
Machine?
Kundemin stopped typing for a moment, his eyes surprised, then composed. He was familiar with the name that had been appearing so often in documents recently. Kundemin clicked on the most recent documents, which described this mysterious paranormal event. It was a highly dangerous ghost with the power to control space and distort time, sucking humans into an unknown dimension and leaving them at the mercy of life and death.
B City's Deputy Chief Captain Zhao Jun and the members of his squad were victims of this paranormal event called [Main Space]. In addition, there were a varying number of survivors from other protection zones, all of whom, including Zhao Jun and others, were silent about the reasons and process of their return to the real world.
It is said that they really don't know why, and even the process is muddled.
The search for the [Main Space] had been a difficult task, and Kundemin was planning to wait until the situation had stabilised before considering the incident, but to his surprise, it had turned itself in. Although this may sound like a comical act, Kundemin knew that advanced ghosts like Machine were completely inhuman, and even possessing intelligence did not mean that they would stand on a united front with humans.
It did not surrender because it felt guilty, so it must have had another reason for doing so.
Kundemin pondered, with a sense of foreboding.
Ridiculous reasons like guilt aside, all he could think of was that this Machine was afraid of something. So afraid that he was willing to expose himself voluntarily, to be held captive by humans.
What could make it afraid to such an extent?
Kundemin thought, walking into the interrogation room where the Lord God was being held. This was a special place for ghosts and monsters, with special isolation glass everywhere. He walked behind the isolation glass and saw the true face of Machine for the first time. It was actually a blue orb in the shape of a prickly ball with countless data-line tentacles.
His eyes stopped, and Kundemin's breath hitched, his eyes instantly awed and suspicious. As the change in Kundemin's face was so sudden, it startled the few government councillors accompanying him around. It was the first time since his rebirth that Kundmin had difficulty controlling his expression, and his eyes went round as he jerked to his feet.
A scene from his previous life flashed before his eyes, finally stopping at a painting so blurred that only vague shapes could be seen. It was a copy of a painting that he had once gone to great lengths to buy from the black market. It was said to be the most widely circulated image in the interstellar world depicting the form of an Ancient God. The artist had committed suicide the second the portrait was completed, leaving behind only this painting that had shocked the universe.
