Vadilan had a not-so-good childhood, with indifferent parents and a twisted brother. She was forced to eat the flesh of her own kind from an early age, in the name of getting used to being a follower of the Faceless God. Vadilan truly hated eating the raw flesh of the bloody insects, and whenever she did not want to eat, she was put in a cage by her moralistic brother, Evel, for days until she cried out and begged to swallow the flesh of her kind.
Vadilan grew up in these oppressive conditions and fell in love with Jack, the family gardener's son, whom she planned to elope with and leave the disgusting family, even if she was destitute. But when the promised day came, she didn't wait for her lover, only to see the grinning Evel carrying a pale, fearful head.
The head of her beloved Jack.
Evel had put Vestilan in a meat cage to try to escape, cut Jack into pieces in front of her, forced her to eat it, and raped her in the process. After that day, Vadilan went mad. When he found out about it, old Macomber claimed that Vadilan had gone mad, and the truth was buried.
She knew the horrors of the family and did not want her brother Del to repeat his tragedy, so she did everything she could to get rid of him, even kill him. Even death would be better than remaining on this hellish estate.
Until now, Vadilan's mind had remained unchanged. Standing still, Vadilan saw her brother rush into the living room. She looked at Del's current appearance, and her blood-stained eyes trembled slightly.
Inside the living room, the young man's face had become extremely strange, the lower half of his face was still normal, but the upper half had been covered with that pale flesh, with only two eyes showing.
Vadilan, realising that he might look like this too, froze in place, his expression becoming even more sombre. He stepped forward and embraced her. Although his sister had killed himself many times, she was still his sister, and Del was overwhelmed to see that she was still alive.
He had thought he was going to die forever, but he had never thought he would be resurrected, even his sister, and although he didn't know why that Talos had spared them, it couldn't have been better news for him. He had a wonderfully inexplicable premonition, though, that his infinite rebirth ability was gone and that if he died again, it would be true death.
"Vadilan, it's so good that you're okay, don't worry, I'll protect you!"
Del knew that deformities had occurred in both himself and his sister, he wasn't sure if this stemmed from the horrible faceless god or if they were born with deformities in this family, but he knew that his ever-loving sister needed comfort and he would always protect her.
"Thank you for caring, Del, but, I don't need your protection."
Vadilan pushed Del away and showed Del her great magical power, a grim and twisted smile blossomed on her face, and as the magic surged through her, so did much more knowledge in her mind about how to use it, obviously a gift from the Faceless God. Vadilan looked at her favourite brother and, knowing that he too possessed magic, compelled Del to work with her to kill everyone in the manor.
"Vadilan? What are you saying at ......?" Del looked at his sister who had regained her senses, and before he could be happy for her he was startled by the murderous aura of her words.
Vadilan laughed as he told Del the reason for his madness and all the ways in which the entire Macomber family had sinned for a century, kidnapping civilians indiscriminately and keeping the insects captive and eating them like animals, convinced that this would bring their souls closer to where the Faceless God were.
In fact, even without the great power she had today, she was ready for revenge and would have purged the whole manor of its sins with fire.
Del listened to her sister's account with a heavy and troubled face, still unable to agree with her; her father and Evel were evil and deserved to die, but many of the servants were innocent and she could not implicate them. Even if they had once taunted her sister, but the crime was not worthy of death. In the living room, Vadilan looked icily at Del before him and the two ended up in an unhappy disagreement.
