Aww baby dami and baby vic 🥺
Roll Call >>"She's been up there all day!" Victoria's brother, Stefano, grumbled. He shook his head as he finished up what he was cooking.
"I know." Victoria's dad added as he put his newspaper down and started up the stairs. "Victoria!" He called with no answer.
He kept climbing the stairs, and the music from his daughter's bass guitar was only getting louder as he got closer to her room.
"Victoria!" Victoria's dad stormed into her room, only then did he get her attention.
The teenage girl sighed as the room went silent. "What, dad? I was practicing, and it was sounding really good!"
Her dad smiled softly. "I know, baby, but it's time for dinner. Come downstairs. You can go right back to practicing after you eat."
Vic pouted, setting her bass flat against her lap. "But Damiano is coming this weekend, and the talent show is in a week! Can I just stay up here and rehearse, please?"
Her dad sighed. "Vic, you can't prioritize rehearsing over dinner. Besides, it's our last dinner here as a family before your brother and I go on that trip. Come down, now. I won't ask again."
Her father had a point. Vic mumbled something under her breath and rose to her bare feet, padding down the stairs to the kitchen.
"Oh, the rockstar has a face!" Stefano laughed, setting a glass of water with lemon in front of Vic's plate.
"Shut up." Vic laughed, sitting down at the table.
Once she sat down, Vic focused all her attention on finishing her dinner. She knew not to eat too fast, or she'd make herself sick. She was absolutely not focused on her dad and her brother's conversation about their trip over the weekend, moving her brother back to university.
Vic would be lying if she said she wasn't excited about them leaving this weekend. Her dad had given her permission to let Damiano stay the whole weekend. It was a perfect opportunity for optimal talent show rehearsal! No parents would be around to tell them to play quieter.
Stefano kept glancing over at his sister as she howled down her dinner. "Slow down, kiddo, you don't have to eat so fast!" Stefano laughed across the table.
"Yes, I do!" Vic wiped her face with her napkin. "Because I'm wasting time not practicing! The talent show is next week, and...thank you for dinner, dad!" She stood up from the table, and started to head back up the stairs before she finished chewing her last bite.
"What? No kiss for your dad before I go? We're leaving tonight!" Her dad laughed.
Vic stopped in her tracks and pivoted on her heel. "Sorry, dad! Thanks for dinner!" She smiled, kissing her dad on the cheek. "Bye, Stefano! Be safe at school!" She waved to her brother with no intention of coming back downstairs.
Once up the stairs, she smiled to herself as she sat back on her bed. Vic slid her arm through the strap of her bass and looked down, making sure her fingers were properly placed before starting her practicing once more.
About forty minutes into her new rehearsal session, her father and brother called another 'goodbye' from downstairs to Victoria that was so quiet compared to her bass playing that Vic wondered if she dreamt it.
Nearly another hour later, a certain tall, dark haired boy entered her room.
"Merda!" She cried, pressing her hand to her heart. "Don't scare me like that!"
Vic jumped up and hugged Damiano, grinning as she took in his familiar scent. Damiano pressed a kiss to the top of her head, looking down at her as he spoke.
