"Look!" Thomas extended his phone between Ethan and Vic. "Twitter is absolutely blowing up! They loved it!"

Thomas showed Ethan and Vic the rows and rows of Twitter notifications in his inbox, beaming. He slid his phone into his pocket without fully opening the notifications.

A gentle chatter swept around the band. Vic reached for the opened bottle of wine and refilling her glass.

"Pass that over here." Ethan waved his hand and Vic did as asked.

"Wow, Edgar, you're really drinkin' away tonight, hmm?" Thomas joked, nudging Ethan's shoulder with his beer bottle.

Ethan laughed as well. "Great show, gotta celebrate!"

Vic rolled her eyes. "You're all children."

"Hey." Thomas nodded between sips. "Where'd Damiano go?"

Vic frowned. "He has been gone for a while, hasn't he? I'm going to go look for him."

Vic rose to her feet a little too quickly because of the wine. She swayed and gripped onto the back of her chair.

"Woah, there, Vic. Take it easy." Ethan laughed.

Vic shook her head, giggling. "I'm fine. I'm going to go find Dami."

Vic entered the home and closed the door quietly, in case Damiano had fallen asleep. It was a great show, but a draining one.

"Dami?" Vic called, seeing a streak of yellow light across the carpet. She pushed the door to the bedroom open.

There, she saw Damiano leaning up against the bedroom dresser, scrolling through his phone. Her eyes danced across Damiano's bare, toned, tattooed chest.

"Hey, baby." Vic coaxed. "We're all having a drink and smoke out on the balcony to celebrate the show. Want to come out?"

Damiano sighed, shaking his head. "Have you seen Twitter?" He looked over to the girl.

"Yeah!" Vic beamed, her eyes gently sparkled. "Thom was showing us! It's going fuckin' crazy!"

Vic set her chin on Damiano's shoulder, feeling him sigh.

"What is it?" Vic asked softly, now frowning.

Damiano shook his head. "You didn't see Twitter. Did you read any of them?"

Vic's eyebrows knitted together in confusion. "No?" She snatched Damiano's unlocked phone out of the frontman's hand. "What are they talking about?"

Vic scrolled through the tweets and upon actually reading them, she noticed what everyone was so shocked about.

"They're...I didn't even know I did it. I didn't think anyone would care, I was so out of my head!" Damiano rambled.

Vic watched as the same clip of that night's performance was attached to all the tweets.

@midnightmåneskin:
who let damiano make that gesture?

@drowsydamiano:
Kind of offensive, not gonna lie

@vibrantvic:
I get it's the lyrics, but I don't think it was a good move @ykaar

Vic bit her lip. She watched as Damiano from a few hours prior mimed sliding a blade down his wrists.

Porterai dei tagli sulle braccia

"Shit, Dami..." Victoria mumbled. "I-I promise it isn't as bad as it looks, yeah?" Vic reassured Damiano.

Damiano was now furiously pacing his room. "What am I--everyone is going to hate me, I--"

"Baby, stop." Vic quickly grabbed Damiano's hands when he started tracing the tattoos he got on his arms years ago to cover up his own self harm scars. "No. I know what you're thinking of, and...no."

Damiano blinked hard, trying hard not to cry. "Did I fuck us over?"

Vic scoffed. "No, Dami. Nobody will even remember this by next week. It's just the shock of it all, yeah? You didn't know, it was the adrenaline, yeah? You know you wouldn't do something like that on purpose. You didn't mean to hurt anyone."

Damiano nodded, trying to settle his breaths. "Yeah, I guess...I guess you're right."

Vic smiled softly, rubbing at Damiano's knuckles. "Do you want to come have a cig with the boys? You know how I feel about that, but I think you could use one after all this." She gestured to Damiano's phone.

"Yeah." Damiano cleared his throat. "I'm just going to run to the bathroom real quick, okay?" Damiano kissed Vic's head.

Victoria frowned. "Just the bathroom?"

"Yeah, Vic, I promise." Damiano smiled softly, turning down the hallway.

Victoria chewed on her bottom lip as she watched Damiano leave. She grew up with the boy, she'd been with him through his worst. She worried he'd go make some unwise decisions.

"Babe." Vic called down the hall.

"Hmm?" Damiano hummed back.

Vic took a deep breath. "I-I just wanted to say I love you."

Damiano, though he couldn't see Vic anymore, deflated. He was anxiously holding his breath, awaiting a lecture. He sighed at the nice greeting. "Love you, too."

Vic nodded, mad at her moment of weakness. She should've followed him, made sure he was safe, but at the same time, he's an adult. He knows what he's doing.

Vic returned outside, grabbing a cigarette from the carton on the table. She lit it between her teeth, exhaling a steady cloud of smoke.

"Did you find him? You were gone for a bit?" Ethan asked, frowning a bit as Victoria smoked. That was really unusual.

"Yeah, yeah." Vic nodded. She caught Damiano's eye has he entered the patio. She smiled, seeing as Damiano seemed like he didn't do anything suspicious while alone. "He was good. Just took a nap, right?"

Damiano looked between everyone, smiling gently. He picked up Vic's wine and took a sip. "Yeah, great show. Really took it out of me."

"Well," Thomas smiled. "We're glad you're here now. Let's get you a drink of your own." He laughed.
