"That was fucking epic!" Callum shouted, as the final whistle blew, and the crowds errupted into cheering and chanting, watching as the boys in blue ran around the pitch, celebrating thier win. It was a good game, lots of play between both teams, with the occasional dirty tackle putting all of us on the end of out seats when you'd see the yellow card come into play for a player. "It wasn't the worst" I giggled, as we stood up from our seats, clapping along and singing with the crowds as the team came closer to the stands, clapping thier fans, chearing and chanting back at us. Some of them taking off thier shirts and throwing around into the crowd, posing for photo's smiling and having a laugh with the crowd.
"You ready to go meet the greatest team in the UK" Callum chuckled, as i rolled my eyes at his exaggeration, but nodded my head, probably showing as much enthusiasm as him. "Is it like a meet and greet at a concert?" i laughed as we walked down the hallway that didn't feel like we had long walked down it, the corridor still smelling of the same bleach i had smelt when we walked through earlier on in the day. "Well, it's not a meet and greet when you know two of the players is it" Callum laughed, and i looked at him with confusion evident on my face. "Are you trying to tell me that you're like best pals with the Chelsea team now?" I laughed as the seriousness fell over Callum's face, and i realised that he was in fact not joking.
"So when did you get in with the team?" I mumble, as we walk to some big oak doors, Callum shows his pass briefly to a man in a black suit who smiles at him and wave us inside. "It's a really interestingly funny story actually, you wouldn't believe me" he smiles, as we walk over to the refreshments. "Try me, at work last week Rashford Freeman's daughter came in and listened to my demo" I smiled, as I watched Callum's eyes go wide and the grin sprout over his face. "No way that's amazing!" Callum exclaimed as he lifted me up spinning me around, the laughter leaving my mouth. "Well, thank you, but let's hear your story now" I smile at him, as he places me on the ground. "Well, I met Chilly in a bar after a match the one day, we got to talking, he followed me on Instagram and the rest is history. I come every so often, but turns out his Dad's relative knew our Dad and I guess it was like fate" Callum smiled, as I smiled back, as much as I wanted to believe it was fate, I thought it was more down to knowing who you know.
"Cal! Hey bro" a voice boomed as they walked through the door, I looked across and seen the familiar face of Ben Chilwell, his smile shining from across the room. "Chilly! Cracking game mate" Callum states, walking over and patting him in the shoulder, both of them engaging in small conversation, until Ben's gaze landed on me.
"Is this Lacey?" Ben questions, his smiling didn't fall from his face, it only grew. "Yeah, this is the kid sister" Callum laughs, as some more players enter the room - Reece James and Christian Pulisic were the ones I remembered watching on tv, their name being mentioned every so often in the last game that played on works TV. "Hey, I'm Ben but you can call me Chilly" Ben states as he walks forward, I hold my hand out to shake but he engulfs me in a sweaty hug, which usually would of made my face frown but I couldn't help but smile at how welcoming he was. "Well Chilly, you can call me Lace" I smile, letting go of his hug, and smiling warmly at him. "Ah, that sounds a lot like our Money Mase" Ben laughs, and if on queue, someone's overly loud voice booms through the room.
"Aye Chil you talking about me?" I look over to the door and I see a male standing, his gaze landing in Ben, but soon shifts over to mine, our eyes connecting as I watch the smile on his face turn upwards into a small smirk. "Well, who's this?" He questions, as he pays Callum on the back and walks over with him to stand with me and Ben. "This is Lacey, this is my sister" Callum states proudly. "Sister?" The Mason questions, turning to look at Callum, then to Ben, then to me. "That is what he said Mase" Reece laughed, as Mason shook his head, the smile still on his face. "Well, I'm Mason, but most people call me Mase" he smiles, looking me up and down, his smirk still evident on his face. I can't help but shift the weight of my body between my feet, but I smile at him all the same. "I'm Lacey, but most people call me Lace" I smile, as he nods his head, his gaze never leaving mine.
"Well, Jacks asked if we wanna meet up and go for drinks before the Euro call up is released" Ben states, as he puts the phone I never noticed in his hand away. "Yeah, I need to shower first though" Mason laughs as Ben smirks and turns to face him. "Yeah I can smell you from here" he laughs, as Callum joins in the laughter. "You wanna come?" Ben turns to face Callum, glancing quickly at me before focusing on Callum. "I mean, a drink with you guys, yeah" Callum laughs, as he then turns to face me. "If that's cool with you?" Callum questions, clearly looking at my face and seeing that this was all a little overwhelming. "Yeah you can go" I smile. "I can get the train back and we can meet up another time" I smile, it felt only right to confirm we could do something at another date. "Nah, you can come too" Mason smiles, his eyes doing another once over of me, and I couldn't help but feel a little self conscious. "Yeah, cmon Lace" Callum smiles.
But whilst I'm in a world of my own, I don't play attention to the conversations happening around me, all I can think of is how my day of seeing my Brother after a long time turned into going for a drink with the Chelsea boys and my Brother, and I couldn't help but think of how my life was now going to change.
