"So, I think the main question we have here is would you be interested in signing with us? We would need to head a few different original songs before we go ahead and sign you, but I really think you'll be an asset to the team here" Alex, the studio manager stated, as he was showing Lacey around, showing her every crook and lopsided wall of the building, she wasn't sure if he was supposed to be selling it to her or putting her off. "Do I need to sing right now or?" Lacey questioned as Alex shook his head. "No, we will schedule another date" Alex smiled. Lacey nodded her head and signed some papers that stated she was happy for the recording studio to keep her demo CD, Alex talking over some final agreements before she left the studio, the rain starting to come down as she walked down the over usual busy high street.
Mason had said he would pick her up from her apartment, which she was more than happy for him to do. But the eyes of a brown haired boy caught her eye, and it wasn't the one she wanted to see either.
"Lace" Levi smiled, standing over the young girl, his stance dominant, the air inside Laceys body feeling like it was escaping and she was unable to take anymore in.
"Levi" she whispered, as he smiled down at her, the rain stopping but the clouds coming over then, darkening the sky around them, almost like the rain had been a sign that the day was going to turn to this. "How have you been babe?" Levi questioned, as Lacey looked around, trying to clock an exit point to get her away from this, but it was too busy to be able to make a safe exit. "Please don't call me that" Lacey whispered, as Levi scoffed, his personality changing, which Lacey knew all too well. "I don't get why you ain't happy to see me" Levi mumbled, his fingers brushing down Laceys coat, making her look up at him.
And for a moment, even if it was just a brief moment, she saw the Levi she fell in love with. The dork of a smile on his lips, his stubble brushing over his face giving him an edgier vibe. His hair tossed over his face, but soft on his head, a style he chose to get rid of years ago. His brown eyes almost holding some form of a sparkle, but it was gone in a second when Lacey blinked. "You can choose to ignore me, or you can give me what I want" he mumbled, his lips deadly close to Laceys ear as he leant down towards her. "It's obvious your the girl that Mason has been spotted with and the media obviously are to oblivious to work that out, or someone somewhere has got a hold on them to stop them posting photos that I know have been taken" Levi chuckled, as Lacey shuddered. "I mean, I could ruin the image you want to have, the perfect girl next door image" he continued, as Lacey shook her head. "I could sell your name, your privacy gone in seconds" Levi chuckled, as Lacey took a step back, looking over at the literal monster she saw he was.
"You wouldn't" Lacey whispered, as Levi smirked at her her. "The hold I still have you is in my favour" Levi smirked. "I'll always be a reminder that you're not worth a footballers time" Levi continued. "Better yet, you can move house, you can change your job, but I will find you" Levi continued to smirk. "And one day, you'll come running back, you'll realise that you are mine, that you don't belong in his world" Levi stated, his hand holding Lacey's arm, ensuring she looked at him whilst he spoke to her. "Please can you let go of me" Lacey whispered, her eyes looking into his, looking for some hope in this situation, or wondering if this was really it. "You'll see Lace, you always do" Levi mumbled, as he let go of her arm, and continued to walk down the street, Lacey stood frozen in her place, wondering what had even just happened.
Lacey looked back quickly, wondering if he was staring back at her, feeling the dread in her body as she turned to look, but like a ghost from her past or a figment of her imagination, Levi was nowhere to be seen, wondering if it all really was just a figment of her imagination, or her mind playing tricks on her.
As Lacey continued her walk in the drizzle of the rain, and the wind that was now coming into play, you wouldn't think it was nearing the middle of summer. But Lacey had her mind focused on one thing now, being everything Levi said she would be, and if she could change what he had said, the words he had spoken, or was it all just the truth that Lacey was too gullible to think about.
Lacey entered her apartment, the door slamming behind her, as she finally let out a breath of air she had surely been holding. Her eyes scanning around at the apartment, almost wishing someone was here, just so she didn't feel alone at this moment in time, but then the knock on the door rang out, making Lacey jump in her skin.
"You okay? You look like you've seen a ghost" Mason chuckled, as Lacey took in his appearance, his soft hair on his head, drizzled with the rain, his brown eyes that had the spark in them that she longed to see, the cheeky smirk on his face, the scent of his aftershave wafting into her apartment.
But it was at that moment she realised, that Levi and Mason appeared to look the same when she described them both, having the similar features of each other.
"Lace?" Mason questioned, as he walked closer to her, Lacey taking a step back, Masons she's looking at her puzzled. "Lacey, what's going on?" Mason questioned, as Lacey let the tears roll down her face.
