MasonMount - it will see daylight one dayLacey stood at the backstage door nervous, the overwheleming fear creeping up in her body, the thought of everything going wrong filling her body, the thought over everyone in the crowd she could hear from where she was stood taking over her body, all the negative thoughts she was able to mask before coming to light, engulfing her body, forcing her to feel sick, to feel like this was all a big mistake.
"Why do you look so nervous?" Mason questioned, as he pulled the girl into a hug, holding her a little tighter than usual. "I literally feel so sick" Lacey mumbled, as Mason chuckled slightly, kissing the girls head. "It's just nerves, I still get them when I walk out of the tunnel and onto the pitch, it's like everything rides on how you preform that night" Mason whispers, as Lacey nods her head, glad that he understood what she was trying to say, even if football and singing were two completely different things. "You'll smash it, you always do" Mason mumbles, kissing her temple, before he pulls away from the girl, the smile on her face making his heart skip a beat. "Lace, you ready?" Alex smiled, as he smiled at Mason. "I'm a big fan!" Alex chimed, shaking Mason's hand, as Lacey introduced them both to each other, laughing slightly at how Alex was acting towards Mason, remembering that Mason was actually an football player, that he was famous, that he was actually a rolemodel to most people, it's just Lacey never saw him like that, she saw the Mason that everybody craved to see, she was just lucky enough to experience it firsthand.
"Right, the band will start, and you will walk on, you know what you're doing, you've got this, and you're going to prove so many people wrong, I have faith in you" Alex smiled, tapping her on the shoulder, before he disappeared, taking Mason with him to his own viewing box, leaving Lacey with the feelings she was struggling with all over again.
Lacey waited for the drums to start, and walked out onto the stage, thankful for the lighting being quite vivid, so she was unable to see majority of the audience, which she was thankful for, because she could hear the cheering of what felt like hundreds of people, and that only added to her nerves. "Hey guys, i'm Lacey, and this is my first gig!" Lacey chuckled into the microphone, hearing the cheering back at her. "So, this is Lazy Baby!" Lacey smiled, as the music started, and Lacey began with how the final version of the song starts, with her speaking the first few words.
"oh no, if you think for one second that I would" Lacey laughed, "please, I got way too many options" Lacey laughed again, as the song started.
Killing myself, just to give you life, and you don't even care, baby taking it easy, but that's not fair, don't need to love me lazy, looks to me like you might need replacing.
Lacey honestly looked as if she had been doing this for years. Dancing along to the beat and interacting with the crowd. A smile on her face the whole time, remembering people's advice of looking towards the end of the room, staring at a blank space at the end of the room.
Something going wrong in your dome, pissing me off in my home, autotune fix up your tone, talking to a queen on her throne.
Don't know why you're waiting on me, if you don't work, you don't eat, promised you would fuck up my life, why my kitty still got nineAs Lacey sang the second verse she knelt down to the crowd, spotting Dani, Lauren and Sasha dancing along and recording her, in a vibe towards the song and the whole atmosphere, cheering their friend on the whole time she was singing and dancing along herself. The whole time the crowd sang along with her, Mason stood in the corner with Alex, Declan, Jack and Chilly admiring her from a distance, not wanting to bring too much attention to them, as this was Lacey's time, this was Lacey's night. "She's so talented" Declan stated, as Mason nodded his head, agreeing with his best-friend. "I'm a little concerned about how many times she says 'I don't give a fuck' but we strive" Ben laughed, as Jack shook his head. "I'd say it too about that prick" Jack mumbled, dancing along to the beat of the song. "I just can't get over how different she is when she's on stage" Jack laughs, as Declan nods his head. "It's like she's two people alright" Declan laughed, as the song drew to a close, another song following the first one.
"This last song means a lot to me, it's one of my favourite ones that I've written, I think a lot of people who have heard this can relate to this song in many different ways and this is why I love it, so this next song is called Bloodshot, and it'll be the song I next release" Lacey smiled, as she took a deep breath, looking up into the lights, thinking instantly of the person she wished was here.
"I actually can't believe I just did that" Lacey laughed, as she engulfed the group of friends in a hug, all of them screaming and jumping up and down. "You did it" Callum whispered, pulling his sister to one side, the tear stained cheeks evident that he had cried, at least once during the performance. "Was that song for dad?" Callum whispered, as Lacey nodded her head. "A reminder that his always here with us both" Lacey smiled, as her brother hugged her tighter. "I love you so much" Callum whispered. "I love you too, idiot" Lacey laughed. "Way to ruin the moment" Callum mumbled.
"Right, who's ready for some shots, because I know I am" Declan smiled, as Lacey rolled her eyes. "Okay, okay, shots it is" Lacey laughed, as the group of the friends left the smaller club, to Lacey's secret party, that Lacey still didn't know about.Authors Note;
The video for Lacey's song is below, I think Doves voice is beautiful.
Also, just whilst I'm thinking about this coming to and end.. (I know🥺)
Would we prefer a sequel? Or a definite end? Let me know!
As always, thank you so much for the reads, the comments, the messages and the votes, it means so so much! ❤️
