"Why didn't I bring my own bloody car" Lacey groaned as she held on to the seatbelt clutching her chest with all her might as her older brother laughed at her, looking over at her briefly. "Anyone would think you've just bloody passed your test" Lacey frowned as Callum slammed on his breaks thinking he would make it through the amber light knowing full well he wouldn't, but Lacey just assumed it was to annoy her further.

"Do you actually drive nowadays then?" Callum chuckled, as Lacey hit his arm playfully and he pulled off from the traffic lights. "Not got Levi running you around like usual" Callum mumbles, as feels the tension in the car change, and the positive atmosphere they were experiencing after months of not really meeting up disappeared. "We broke up" Lacey states, her eyes gazing outside the window focusing on anything that wasn't going to be this conversation, but she knew she was going to have to have it with him sooner rather than later.
"Oh, well, I can't say that I'm not glad, he was always a tool" Callum replies, but places a comforting hand on his sisters leg, almost as if to say it was a safe space to say anything. "I guess over the years we realised that I wanted more to life than he realised was ever possible, everything I did was wrong, I was never right, it felt physically and mentally draining, I just couldn't do it anymore" Lacey breathes and it was almost like a massive weight off her shoulders and lifted. "Lace, you don't have to explain anything to me, you just need to give me an address so I can go and beat his ass into next week" Callum grinned as the he slammed his breaks on again, this time he was only breaking to park the car in the carpark but never the less, an emergency stop wasn't needed.

"My driving isn't that bad" Callum laughs as we walk into the pub that looked more like a fancy bar with a rooftop terrace. "Yo, Cross whatcha drinking?" Ben called from the bar as Callum walks over to him and they engage in conversation, leaving my standing a few feet away, the awkwardness setting in.

"This doesn't look like your scene" a voice states from behind me. I turn around and I meet with Mason, who's got a cheeky smile on his face. "I work in a pub, I literally avoid them at all costs" I smile, as I pull a strand of hair behind my ear, smiling back at him. "Well, your with the best company" he smirks, as he takes my hand and pulls me with him to the door to enter the roof top. I follow him up the stairs and I must admit, the view was breathtaking.

"So, would you like anything to drink?" Mason asks, a small smirk on his lips as he finally lets go of my hand and I realise for a brief moment we was the only two people up here. "I'll just have an orange juice please, here's my bank card" I state, as I pull my bank card out of the back of my phone, my usual hiding place since I always forgot my purse. "Oh no, think of this as you owe me a drink in the future" he smiles, as he walks to the top of the stairs as Callum and Ben walk up with a drink in their hands and Mason disappears down the stairs, throwing a smile in my direction before he goes.

"I see you liked my Instagram post" I laugh at Ben as he chuckles back. "Yeah, I know what you mean by his driving, he picked me up once after a celebration drink and I was worse for wear at that point, let's just say I would of hated to be the person who cleaned his car the following day" Ben chuckled, as we all sat down on the L sofa shape that was in the corner, decorated by fairy lights for a nighttime event.

"Yo Lace, fancy seeing you here" a thick brummie accent calls from near the stairs, and Lacey laughs knowing instantly who the voice belongs to. "Grealish" Lacey smiles, standing up and hugging him. "Wait, how do you know him?" Callum questions, as I pull away from the hug and Jack joins our table. "Well, I've known Sasha a long time, and I've met Jack on a couple of occasions" I smile as Jack nods his head. "Sometimes I think Sash will leave me for her" Jack chuckled. I nod my head, the smile evident on my face. "Sasha was literally the only person I spoke to for months after I broke up with Levi" I smile, thinking back on the nights when it literally felt like a week long sleepover at hers in Manchester. "How is Sasha?" I ask, turning my attention to Jack.

"She's okay, she's just signed a deal for boohoo again, she's made sure she's booked off the Euro events as well so it'll be nice to be able to think of scoring a goal and looking in the crowd and seeing her there" He smiles, and Lacey smiled back at him, she knew a lot about the ins and outs of their relationship and how hard it had been for them in the past with distance, but Lacey fully believed that they was soulmates.

"What have I missed then?" Mason calls from the stairs as he balances a tray full of five drinks walking up the stairs. "Why have you got so many drinks?" Jack laughs, as Ben nods his head joining in the laughing. "Well, it seems like we have a squad meet up" Mason smiles, as he walks over, his best friend following him with his own girlfriend, Declan and Lauren smiling behind him.

Lacey wasn't sure how she ended up going to a football match and then following to the evening drinks that night, but she knew it felt right deep down. The laughter and the banter created memories she knew she would cherish, making friends with people she hadn't met before, and ensuring friendships she already had were strong.
Deep down Lacey knew this was a one time thing that football drinks was Callum's life, not hers.
But deep down, she couldn't help but wish this wasn't a one time thing, and that her life was changing for the better.

Authors Note:
I'm not really sure how this story is going to pan out, I literally always have at least half of the chapters written before I even release one but due to work recently I haven't been able to write much, just odd notes and ideas in a book to find time to write it up fully.
I know where this is heading, there might just be a few filler chapters before we get to the actual story.
I really hope you're enjoying it.
