Laceylou_x - I'm your only sibling, you little shit
Benchilwell- sibling goalsThe group of the boys and the girls walked into the open mic setting, it was their typical scenery of a big bar with a ballroom style setting with large tables and seats around them, it wasn't as busy as they expected, but as Lauren had previously said, this was always a small event that just popped up, but tonight, it was more of a for fun vibe than a serious one, which suited the group that had walked in.
"I'll get the drinks in then" Jack chuckled, as Ben and Jack walked off to the bar, letting Declan, Lauren, Sasha, Lacey, Mason, Dani and Callum find a table big enough for all of them. It become apparent quite quickly that there wasn't a table big enough for everyone, so the group opted for a table in the corner that was surrounded by a bar going around the room with some bar stools for them to sit on.
"Lacey needs to hurry up and sing" Callum chimes, as the group finally all sit down, waving Jack and Ben over with some drinks. "Oh god, who else is singing?" Lacey laughs, as Dani and Callum hold their hands up, Sasha and Lauren looking at the floor, or anywhere else to avoid Lacey's eyes. "Cmon guys, this is supposed to be fun, it's only going to be fun if everyone sings" Lacey sulks, pouting her lip down. "Oh me and Mase have got a song" Declan laughs as Mason sends a playful glare at his best friend. "Only because you've begged me to do it" Mason mumbles, as Lacey smiles at Mason. "See these are team players, you call yourself a team" Lacey teases playfully.
"Well, I'll go jot some names down" Callum smiles, as he leaves the table, Dani following with their hands intertwined. "Does it bother you that your brother is seeing your best friend?" Declan questions, his question being completely innocent. Lacey laughs and shakes her head, "I could ask Lauren the same thing, it's like she third wheels with you and Mase" Lacey smiles, as Mason smirks, shaking his head. "See, she understands what I mean" Lauren laughs, as Declan kisses her forehead. "I love you though babe" Declan smiles, as Mason coughs, "I feel offended, he said the same thing to me last night Loz" Mason teases, holding a hand to his chest in a joking way.
Jack and Ben make their way back to the table with Dani following them, also holding a few bottles of wine, making Lacey question if the table had in fact turned into alcoholics, as this was a usual event most nights lately.
"Right guys, up first to kick the night off we have Callum Cross, so Callum, take it away" a DJ states from a booth in the corner, as all of the table turn to look at Callum standing with a microphone.
Lacey stands up from the table, leaning against the bar. "I've never been a singer aha" Callum chuckles into the microphone, as the crowd closer to the stage give him a small cheer and clap, as Dani stands next to Lacey. "But when I heard this song this morning, I knew I had to do this" Callum smiled, as the music started softly behind him.
"Loving and fighting, accusing, denying, I can't imagine a world with you gone. The joy and the chaos, the demons were made of, I'd be so lost if you left me alone"
Lacey's eyes dart from Dani to Callum on the stage, his voice shakes with emotion, breathing in and out can be heard through the microphone, but Lacey brings a hand up to her face, wiping a tear that was already falling.
"You locked yourself in the bathroom, lying on the floor when I break through, I pull you in to feel your heartbeat, can you hear me screaming please don't leave me"
Callum's voice breaks, but he continues to sing, Lacey's hands covering her face, the tears free-falling.
"Hey, I got you" Mason whispers, wrapping his arms around Lacey and pulling her in, playing with her hair and she sobs quietly into his chest.
"Longing this highway, your silent beside me, driving a nightmare I can't escape from"
Lacey relaxes into Masons chest, just letting him hold her close. It hadn't occurred to Lacey that this was still how Callum felt about their dad. Callum's voice got more powerful in the background, the crowds clapping him, it wasn't a surprise that he could hold a tune though, he came from a family who could sing. "Hey, it's okay" Mason whispers in Laceys ear, as she pulls away from his chest and looks up at the male comforting her. "It's okay" Mason whispers placing a kiss to her forehead, not caring who was around to see it.
Lacey stays in Masons arms, but turns to face the stage, watching her brother sing the last round of the chorus, before the song finished and everyone in the room clapped, cheering him on for another song.
"Yes! Give it up for Callum everyone! Up next week have Alexandraaa" the DJ shouts into the microphone, the crowd still clapping for Callum as someone else takes their place on the stage.
Callum walks over to the table, smiling at Mason, nodding his head as if to say 'thank you' and pulls Lacey in for a hug, both of the siblings embracing each other, whispering to each other how proud they were of each other.
"Am I missing something?" Jack questions quietly to the table, as Dani nods her head. "It'll be 5 years next week since their dad passed away, I guess, Callum just wanted to let go of the emotion he was holding in" Dani states, as she looks over to the siblings who were still hugging. "Callum didn't take it well, he took off leaving Lace to deal with it" Dani continued, keeping an eye on the siblings. "But the reality is that if Callum didn't go, he wouldn't be here, his only here because Lacey kept him here" Dani smiled, as the two siblings returned to the table and they congratulate Callum on his performance.
