CLCross - we cool people"How's your head feeling this morning?" Lauren mumbled, as she pulled the blanket from Lacey, causing Lacey to groan. "I don't want to wake up" Lacey mumbled, covering her face with a pillow. "What even happened?" Lacey mumbled through the pillow as Lauren laughed, then regretted it holding her head, sitting next to Lacey and pulling the pillow from her face. "You kissed Mount in front of everyone" Lauren smiled, as Lacey smiled a smaller smile, but groaned, pulling the pillow back over her face. "No, it was cute, like proper cute" Lauren chuckled, as Raffa come and sat at the sofa. "Cmon, let's get into comfy clothes, go grab a coffee and walk Raffa and then have a film day" Lauren states, as Lacey peeks her head from behind the pillow, looking at her and nodding her head slightly. "We can also talk about your ex boyfriend since he showed up" Lauren states, standing up from the sofa, as Lacey dropped the pillow, the realisation of seeing Levi wasn't in fact a nightmare she had dreamt on Lauren's sofa.
"Where are the lads anyway?" Lacey mumbled, as Lauren, Lacey and Raffa walked through the park, drinking overly large cups of coffee they had brought from Costa prior to their walk to the park. "Both at St George's, I'm not sure their heads are going to too happy with it" Lauren chuckled, as Lacey nodded her head. "So you and Mason?" Lauren smirked, as Lacey shook her head. "It was just a kiss" Lacey mumbled, as Lauren nodded her head, but the smirk didn't leave her face. "Righttt" Lauren chuckled. "So, Levi? That's his name right?" Lauren mumbled as Lacey took a deep breath, nodding her head. "I mean, Dani said bits last night but, I wasn't really listening" Lauren mumbled, as Lacey nodded her head. "Abusive relationships fuck you up" Lacey mumbled, as she took a sip from her coffee, letting it ignite her veins. "Did you not think of like pressing charges?" Lauren questioned, as Lacey shook her head. "I thought it was love, I mean we was engaged at one point" Lacey chuckled. "He helped me through some really dark parts of my life" lacey continued. "But, I guess somewhere along the way we both lost ourselves, he changed, or maybe he never did, maybe that was always just him" lacey whispered, taking another sip of her coffee, as Lauren nodded her head, letting the girl speak freely. "I mean, as soon as he laid hands of my that was it, it was the final straw, I was out, that's when I saw Sasha outside a shop, I didn't even think, I just asked her to take me away, I rang Dani, Dani went round and cleared my things out whilst he was at work and I just never looked back" Lacey whispered. "I mean, I'm thankful Sasha never asked a question, never hesitated even" Lacey mumbled. "But I can't help but think back to what would of happened if I had of stayed" Lacey whispered, pulling on her jacket that she had borrowed from Declan's wardrobe. "I mean, would I even still be here" Lacey whispered, the tears getting ready to fall from her eyes. "You can't think like that babe" Lauren whispered, wrapping an arm around her friend and pulling her close. "You're out of that, and you live to fight another day, tell your story" Lauren states, trying to comfort the girl.
"But his back" Lacey whispered. "And last night won't be the end of it, I know it" Lacey whispered, thinking the worst in her head. "Well, my place is always your place, don't ever feel like you're alone in this, we've got you" Lauren smiled, as the two girls finally decided to walk back to Lauren's.

"Well, thank you for your hospitality, as always, but I should probably go home and sleep" Lacey chuckled, as she grabbed the bag from the floor, and got ready to leave Lauren's. "Please don't be a stranger even though footballs starting, we're having weekly meet ups" Lauren chuckles, as Lacey agrees, before getting in the taxi at the bottom of the drive, and finally going home to clear up the mess that was going to be there from the night before.
Lacey entered her apartment and a feeling of relief swarmed her, the night before slowly replaying in her mind, the events all replaying, the group singing and Jacks god awful rendition of Let It Go coming to mind, making her chuckle.
Lacey stood resting against the island on the kitchen, scrolling through her Instagram reading some of the comments she had gotten recently. None of them as worse as she was expecting it to be, but photos she had been tagged in from Dani or Callum, or posts that Mason or even Ben had liked her name seemed to spring up, general questions of asking who she was or how the trio knew the footballers, majority of them had been ignored, but ignoring comments didn't make them go away.
As Lacey scrolled through her phone, the doorbell for her apartment dinged, indicating that someone was at her door. Lacey walked over, assuming it would be Dani, or even one of the squad, but was a little shocked when she opened the door to a mailman with a box of roses, a card slipped in between the stems. Lacey thanked the mailman, and closed the door placing them on the island, instantly thinking it was one of her friends, but she couldn't of been more wrong.
For someone so sweet, you deserve a rose, but a single rose is never enough, thinking of you always.
L xand that's when the realisation hit, Lacey's life had never just magically got better, although she found comfort in her friends, her family, the truth was always a step ahead, he was always going to be a step ahead, and maybe Lacey's nightmare was just beginning.
