"His a big softy really, he cried at Marley and Me" Lauren smiles talking about Declan. "Everyone cries at Marley and Me, if you don't I don't know if can associate with you, it technically means you have no heart!" Lacey states, taking another sip of the second bottle of wine they had now opened. "I know, I know, but his always emotional, it's cute though it's one of the traits I love about him" Lauren smiles, as her phone chimes and her smile grows bigger. "I'm really sorry give me like ten minutes, Dec just wants to say night" Lauren states, giving a small smile. "Don't say sorry! Go!" Lacey chuckles, as if on queue her own phone dings.

Masey:
Fancy a call? Dec abandoned me to say his love yous

    Lacey stared at her phone, not really sure if a phone call with Mason was something she wanted, or something she needed, she hadn't replied to his earlier message and she was a little worried he would bring it up.

Masey:
You haven't got to, I just wondered if you wanted to talk about things

     The second message was enough to make Lacey understand that Mason genuinely just wanted to talk. Lacey took a deep breath and pressed the green button on Masons contact and it rang a couple of times before he answered the phone. "Laces" he spoke through the phone, and you could hear the smile in his voice. "Masey" Lacey laughed back, and you heard a door shut in the background on the phone indicating someone had left the room. "How's training?" Lacey questioned, trying to keep the conversation towards Mason rather than her. "It's long, i mean I love St George's Park and I love the training we do here despite it not being much different from Chelsea, but I hate the more shielding away" Mason sighs, as Lacey nods her head, understanding what he was meaning to some extent. "How's things that end? It's really cute that you're with Lauren, I think Deccers thinks his been replaced" Mason chuckled as Lacey rolled her eyes. "Yeah, I've kicked him out Raffa and Lauren are mine now" Lacey chuckled, and Mason laughed on the other end of the phone. "I didn't mean to scare you off with my message, I just like being around you Lace" Mason breathed down the phone and Lacey swore she felt her heart stop beating for a moment. "I don't see why" Lacey whispered and she headed Mason sigh on the other end of the phone. "I just enjoy spending time with you, I know it's for myself and not for my Chelsea Cup" Mason laughed, and Lacey nodded her head. "So, Tuesday?" Mason questioned, and Lacey nodded her head, then remembered that Mason couldn't see that. "Tuesday" Lacey replied, a small smile on her face "who you on the phone to?" Lacey heard Dec in the background and couldn't help but giggle. "I'll let you explain that one, have a good night!" Lacey chimed before she hung up the phone and placed it on the arm of the chair, as Lauren walked back into the lounge.

"You totally was on the phone to Mase" Lauren smirks, as Lacey shakes her head, "I don't know what you're on about" Lacey stated, as the film continued to play, both females humming along to Tale As Old As Time.

"So, how was girls night?" Dani questioned, as Lacey smiled at her. "It was nice, how was date night? I saw Callum's story" Lacey smiled, Dani trying to hide the blush. "You promise it's not weird that I'm like dating your brother?" Dani questioned as Lacey shook her head. "I'll admit I found it a bit weird at first, but I spoke to him the other day and honestly he adores you and it's clear that you like him and I couldn't be happier for you both" Lacey smiles, and there was truth in her words. "So, have you and Mason like spoke?" Dani teases, as Lacey takes her turn to blush. They'd been odd conversations and a text everyday, but it didn't really mean anything to her, even if it did make her chest feel warm, and everything around her stop for a small moment. "We're just talking, we're good friends" Lacey smiles, as she pulls another plait in her hair, making sure her two french plaits were identical before tying the last one off. "Friend-zone is a terrible place to be" Dani laughed, as Lacey hit her arm playfully.

"So, are you going with Lauren and Sasha to the match tomorrow?" Dani questioned as Lacey nodded her head, slowly but all the same putting her shopping away for the week. "It'll be nice to see Sasha again, I saw her Boohoo photos on Instagram and honestly the range looks amazing" Lacey breathed as Dani nodded her head. "It's good to see you going out and getting around" Dani smiles, as she looked at her watch briefly. "Well, that's lunch time over, I guess I'd better make a move to the offices" Dani mumbled. "Okay, I'll give you a call when I get to Lauren's and I'll ring you when I'm home and we can hopefully talk about a win" Lacey smiled. "That sounds like a plan, promise me you'll keep safe" Dani whispers, as Lacey nods her head.

As Dani leaves, Lacey scans over her phone, looking at how much her Instagram likes had gone up over the last few days. She has already rummaged across news pages looking for a photo of her and Mason, knowing that sometime it would show up, not that it even mattered, they were just friends, but it was the principle that the news would drag you through the mud for any kind of story nowadays.

Masey:
Fancy a sneaky drink after the match tomorrow?

Laces:
Shouldn't you be like going to sleep after the match? Don't you usually have a head count on the bus back?

Masey:
Don't worry, it'll be fun ;)

           And that's when Lacey knew, that this was probably always going to be a little more than friends.
