"So you're telling me, I've been fucking one of Jacks relations and he only thinks now to state that" Mason mumbled, as he drove down the highway. "Well, Lace didn't say anything either" Declan stated, as Mason groans. "Then there's this whole thing with Levi" Mason mumbled, as Declan nodded his head, aware that Mason couldn't see him, but not really knowing what to say. "Why does the universe just like to throw a spanner in things" Mason muttered. "Mase, have you rang me just to moan at me for things that I can't control?" Declan laughed, as Mason mumbled something that wasn't English. "And don't swear in another language" Declan laughed, as Mason laughed too. " I don't know why I'm so stressed" Mason muttered, as he swore at the fact the traffic light had just changed to red. "Because you're worried that Lacey is gonna push you away or shut you out so she can deal with her past when you feel like you've both just got to good terms" Declan states, as Mason scoffed, but then laughed. "You're right on that one" Mason mumbled. "So what you're gonna do, is go and get some food, you're going to cook something nice and lay out some shorts and a hoodie for her, rent a Disney film, one that has good songs because girls love that, and you're going to cuddle on the sofa and talk about things when she is ready to talk about them" Declan states, as Mason laughs. "Done this before Dec?" Mason questioned, as Declan nodded his head again. "Every time Loz is down, it's a Disney and PJs night with Raf" Dec smiled, thinking about how often him and Lauren used to do it. "And then, you go to sleep, you wake up next to her, you hold her just that bit closer, take extra time getting out of bed when you wake up, you talk about breakfast, mumble about how you hate mornings, you talk about the most random things" Declan smiled, as he peered out of the bedroom and down his stairs, watching Lauren watch the TV, occasionally stroking Raffas head. "Explain to me how you haven't put a ring on her finger" Mason mumbled, as Declan ran a hand through his own hair.
The thought had crossed his mind several times, he knew that Lauren was who he wanted to spend the rest of this life with, but he never thought much into having a ring on her finger and her being called Mrs Rice. Declan understood that weddings were a big thing for most people, but somehow, he never thought it would mean something to Lauren, and having this conversation with Mason began to make his head whirl, wondering if Lauren thought the same as Mason.
"Maybe one day, how do you fancy a lads trip tomorrow?" Declan questioned, as Mason thought on the other end of the phone. "Well, do you think Lauren and Lace could do something? I just wouldn't want to leave her alone if she's got some next stalker" Mason mumbled, the annoyance coming back into his tone of voice. "Well, we could always do a chilled day, see what everyone's doing and have a film day at someone's, it would make a change to going out drinking" Declan laughed, as Mason thought about the idea, agreeing in his head. "We will rain check, go and spend some time with Loz and I'll speak to you later bro" Mason smiled, as Declan nodded his head, saying bye before hanging up.
Mason drove the rest of the way home in thoughts with himself, talking to himself, or talking to himself expecting a reply in the car, one that never came as he was in fact driving alone.
"What if she really doesn't feel the same way" Mason mumbled, as he pulled a hand through his hair, pulling up in his driveway. "What if the whole kissing and sleeping together came from the alcohol you always seem to be drinking when you're together" Mason mumbled, getting out of his car. "Maybe you're reading to much into it" Mason mumbled as he opened his front door and dropped the duffel bag by the laundry room. "Why is this so frustrating" Mason mumbled, as he pulled the door a little too hard and it slammed, nearly hitting his foot in the process. "You need to calm down Mase" he muttered to himself, but sat down on the sofa and looked over his Instagram, seeing that Levi had liked his latest post, Masons blood boiling in his body again.
Without thinking he scanned through Levi's Instagram page, looking over every photo, every like and every comment, even back to when Lacey and him were actually together, looking at how happy she actually looked in the photos, until his eyes landed on one in particular. It was Levi hugging Lacey with his arm around her waist, leaning into her and looking at her with what appeared to be adoration in his eyes, Lacey's face gazing at the person taking photo, as he swiped right on the phone to go to the next one, he noticed the scenery around them, rose petals and flowers over the floor, with what looked like a vase broken, but in the centre of the photo there was Lacey's hand, her 'she' tattoo clear as day on her finger, but matching the tattoo was a ring, an engagement ring to be specific. Mason sighed, rubbing his face, before swiping to the next photo, this one making his eyes grow wider, there was Lacey stood in the same dress she had wore in the other two, this time, her arms exposed and she wasn't standing with Levi, it was a single photo of her by herself, he usually smile wasn't anywhere to be seen on her face, her face turned to the side with what looked like a bruise, but it could of easily been a shadow, but his eyes continued to scan the photo, anything to prove his mind was playing tricks on him and thinking the worst, but as Mason looked over the photo again, he saw the bruises that lead up her leg, and onto her collarbone and down her arm, as the tears filled his eyes.
"Why haven't you told me Lace" he mumbled, as he picked his car keys up, and left his house heading to Bens.
