As Lacey sang the words, anybody watching could see that she was really telling herself that she was singing. "Is it Disney night or something?" Callum mumbled, as Declan laughed at him, which Mason shushed, sitting the edge of his seat watching Lacey. "Cmon bro" Ben stated, pulling Mason up and going with Sasha to the stage to be able to video some of the song.
Lacey was singing away, really into the performance, her posture and vocals matching the songs lyrics. The crowd was going insane around her, clapping and cheering her on.
"Did you ever, lose yourself to get what you want, did you ever, get on a ride then wanna get off, Did you ever push away the ones you should of held close, did you ever let go, did you ever not know"
Lacey sang, shaking her head slightly at every sentence she sang, almost as if she had done all of those things to make someone else happier. Lacey continued to sing flawlessly, hitting every note she attempted, up until the second chorus, where she stumbled on her words, laughing it off, but the pounding in her chest, her palms becoming sweaty, her eyes darting around crowd, she was sure she had seen who she thought she had.
Lacey danced around the stage slightly, the alcohol taking over her body, the crowd laughing and clapping along to her.
"It's no good at all, to see yourself, and not recognise your face, out on my own, the worlds such a scary place, oh, the answers are all, inside of me, all I gotta do, is believe"
As Lacey sang the world believe she held the note, causing an undeniable reaction from the crowd. As Lacey continued to sing, she stared into the crowd, the brown eyes staring back at her, watching her intently with a smirk on his face, watching her every moment, watching her take her breath, watching her smile and sing.
"You can bet on me" Lacey finished, taking a bow as the crowd clapped her, encouraging her to sing another song, Lacey laughing and she shook her head, but she couldn't shake the nerves she had. "That was Lacey, everybody give it up" the DJ sounded into the microphone. "Right, let's have a break and a dance shall we, and come back for round 2,I know who I'd love to see again" the DJ smiled towards Lacey, as she smiled back, stepping into the crowd, her arms being pulled in different directions, the crowd all trying to speak to her, her panic setting in.
"Hey Lace" his voice spoke, as she turned around to look at him, his figure towering over her, almost as if she felt smaller than before. "What are you doing here?" Lacey questioned, her voice coming out shakes than she thought it would. "Levi, I asked you a question" she muttered, as she pulled a hand through her hair, shaking her head, annoyed at the fact this was happening. "I missed you, I come to every one of these things, hoping to just catch your face" Levi states, his voice sounded honest and genuine, but Lacey couldn't shake the feeling that she didn't want to be in this situation, not now and not here. "You was amazing up there" Levi stated. "I need to go back to the table, but it was good to see you" Lacey whispers, trying to be polite and let this come to an end so she could go back to the table. "Oh yeah, I'll see you around, maybe have a catch up later" Levi smiles, touching Lacey's arm before he disappeared, Lacey shuddering and walking to the table as quick as she could, holding her breath thinking it would make her quicker, that it would bring her back to earth, or whatever would help her out of the nightmare she thought she was dreaming.
"Lace you was amazing!" Jack cheers, as the table clap her, her eyes landing on Callum, who's jaw was clenched. "I'm going to kill him" Callum stand up from the table, his chair hitting the table, as Lacey stood in front of him, her hands on his chest. "Leave it, please" Lacey whispered, her brother looking down at her, as Ben and Jack stand up, touching Callum's arms, trying to get his attention, but it was useless. "Callum please" Lacey states, the tears threatening to fall from her eyes, as Callum stared down at his sister. "He hurt you, I can't just stand here and act like I don't know" Callum mumbled, but pulled his sister in for a hug none the less.
Lacey steadied her breathing whilst being in Callum's chest, his heartbeat calming her. "Am I missing something?" Mason asks, Sasha and Lauren pulling him to one side with Declan as Dani joins them, talking amongst themselves, as they look into the crowd and Dani points to the male with his back towards them, standing at the bar taking a shot of whatever it was he was drinking.
"Do you want to go home?" Callum questioned, as Jack shook his head. "Lace?" Ben asked, as Lacey pulled away from her brother. "No, were staying, Jack hasn't sang let it go yet" Lacey smirked, as Lacey walked over to Sasha and Lauren, her arms going around their shoulders. "And I believe you two are due to sing a song at some point this evening" Lacey smiles, as Masons hands sneak around her waist, pulling her into him.
"Are you okay? Do you want to go home, be honest with me" Mason whispers into her ear, causing a shiver to run down her spine, as she turned around to look at the brown eyed boy she felt safe with. "No, I'm happy here" she smiled up at him. "I really want to kiss you right now" Mason muttered, as Lacey smirked. "So kiss me then" Lacey whispered, as Masons lips crashed to Lacey's, and the friends around them burst into cheering and clapping, as Lacey and Mason laughed.
