Leaving the cold and the snow sure was a relief. The ghost lowered his hood and ruffled his hair.
Ranboo had fixed their collar and removed their helmet. They were now in the process of removing the rest of their armor.
The ghost intended to wait for Ranboo. Phil's reaction earlier as well as his own had unsettled him and he'd rather not be alone with the man. However, it appeared Phil had other plans.
"Do you like tea, Ghost?" Phil called from the kitchen.
"Go on, Phil's nice, and I won't be long" Ranboo urged the ghost.
The ghost nodded and hesitantly made his way towards where he'd heard Phil.
The kitchen was a lot warmer than the rest of the house, a welcomed change for the ghost. He'd found he froze very easily, and the walk through the cold outside had been less than enjoyable.
It also smelled amazing. Fresh herbs filled the room with a strong aroma and some sort of meat was cooking on the stove.
"So you really don't remember anything?" Phil asked while carefully placing a teapot onto the table.
The ghost shook his head.
"Nothing. It's like constant vague nostalgia but I can never place it"
"That certainly makes things worse" Phil muttered.
"How so?" the ghost asked.
"It's gonna be a lot more difficult finding out who killed you"
"Killed me?" the ghost questioned, "what do you mean?"
Phil opened his mouth to answer but shook his head when Ranboo entered the room.
"Later"
The ghost nodded. He could wait.
"Ranboo, could you help set the table, please," Phil asked as he carefully lifted the pot from the stove and carried it to the table.
"Sure thing"
The trio was soon sat around the table, the ghost next to Ranboo and Phil across from him.
The ghost looked at the bowl of stew in front of him. He'd realized he hadn't eaten anything since becoming a ghost, and most likely didn't need to either, but the question was if he even could eat.
He scooped up a spoonful of the stew and brought it to his mouth, focusing on keeping the spoon in his hand.
The food didn't immediately pass right through him, so that was a start, and he could taste it.
"It's really good" he told Phil.
Ranboo hummed in agreement, mouth too full to speak.
"Aww, thanks mate"
The ghost tasted the tea next. It was slightly bitter, but also very refreshing.
"It's green tea" Phil explained.
The ghost concluded he did like tea, at least this tea.
During the dinner, the unsettling feeling Phil at first had given the ghost was diminishing. Phil's reaction had been odd, sure, but based on their short conversation it seemed Phil had known him when he was alive, which made his reaction a lot more understandable.
