A problem arose within the TVA household, after a mission gone wrong. Not a... not a huge problem, but still a problem.

A powerful sorcerer turned Mobius into a cat. The spell would wear off on its own, of course, after a few days. But in the meantime, Loki learned Meowbius was everything Mobius wasn't; annoyingly mischievous, energetically unpredictable, and basically a pain in the ass.

Pairing: Loki/Mobius M. Mobius

I've wrote a few fics where Loki got turned into a cat, in the past, one of them is a Lokius fic, too. So here's something different where Mobius was the one being turned into a cat. Enjoy!

"Mobius?" Loki called, shouted, after the smoke and debris started to clear, and he could see beyond his own hands. "Mobius?" He tried again, this time louder. Concern began creeping down his stomach when he received no response.

It was supposed to be easy. The mission was supposed to be simple. They underestimated the opponent, they'd learned their lesson now. Loki learned his lesson now, and he hoped — prayed — the reason behind Mobius's lack of response wasn't what he feared it was. If anything happened to him...

You were supposed to protect Mobius. He's only a mortal after all. You should've protected him.

His fear subsided and turned into something else when he saw a figure approaching him, walking through the smoke on all four. And oh.

Oh. For a moment Loki was speechless, because even with the fluffy white-and-grey fur and short legs and... a fucking mustache — not a literal mustache, of course, it was the colour of the fur above his mouth that made it look like a mustache — Loki knew who the cat was, even if he wished he was wrong.

Oh.

"This is a nightmare," Loki mouthed as the cat — Mobius — headbutted his leg while purring softly.

For some reason Mobius seemed to not be as bothered as Loki was, that he was turned into a meowing creature, and Loki figured he knew why, having wielded magic himself, too; the feline blood in Mobius's body coaxed him into... relaxation, clouded his thoughts from the reality of what'd been done to him. It happened to everybody who was turned, and they all adopted the instinct of the animal which they took the form of.

This is, Loki thought, still standing still as Meowbius continued headbutting him, a nightmare.

It was, indeed, a nightmare.

"What do you mean you can't turn him back?" Ravonna was furious. It made Loki... nervous, as much as he hated to admit. He and Ravonna never really talked, except for the first time they met during his hearing, with her as the judge.

In the past it was always Mobius negotiating with her in the office while Loki waited outside, so it was odd, to say the least, having to walk into her office with a cat tucked in his arms. A cat who wouldn't stay still because he wanted to be put down so he could go and cause whatever shenanigans he wanted. A cat who was actually one of their skilled analysts.

"I mean exactly what I said," Loki thought he hated how helpless yet aggressive he sounded. Judged by the look on Ravonna's face, she didn't approve of his answer, though it wasn't like there was anything he or she could do about that.

"Listen," Ravonna opened her mouth, then she cut herself off when she spotted by the corner of her eye, Meowbius — who'd long freed himself from Loki's hold — had climbed up the shelf where Ravonna kept her trophies and souvenirs. She was only fast enough to shout a, 'No!' Before a trophy was knocked over by a very curious cat who, after making a mess, got spooked by the noise and his boss's sudden raise of voice that he jumped right back into Loki's arms.
