Loki and Mobius were on a routine mission when they unexpectedly ran into someone with the face of Mobius, save for the blonde hair and dreamy eyes; a Mobius Variant, who apparently couldn't stop shamelessly flirting with Loki.
Mobius couldn't stand him... himself? Whatever. The Variant went by the name Roy O'Bannon. Mobius hated the name, too. It had nothing to do with this hot and sexy Roy hitting on his Loki, of course not. That would be... silly.

Pairing: Loki/Mobius M. Mobius
This entire fic started from my post on Tumblr, about Roy O'Bannon (a cowboy character from Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights movies, played by Owen Wilson) being a Mobius Variant, and how interesting it'd be, if he met Loki and Mobius. It was supposed to be just one Tumblr post, but I then couldn't stop thinking about it. So here it is, an actual fic dedicated to the concept alone. Enjoy.

"You ever been to Nevada?" Mobius asked, just a small talk to keep the conversation going, so it at least distracted Loki from the summer heat melting him from inside out, from where the sun was directly above him. Mobius knew Loki never did well with heat, and he knew this was the self-proclaimed God's first time in Nevada.
"Believe it or not," Loki said, pulling at his own shirt -- sticking to his skin by sweat -- to help reduce the heat, it barely did anything. "I haven't that much experience with Earth, and if my first two times here were to be in a place where it's burning me alive, you would never have had been able to convince me to accompany you to this godforsaken Hel --"
"Alright, alright, I got it," Mobius would've patted Loki's shoulder as a way to show sympathy. He knew better than to provide any physical touch right now. With the temperature being this high, really, any physical contact, whether it was done to Loki or any of the Minutemen, might just lead to murders.
They were hardly tolerating it, the heat, all of them. Loki just happened to get the worst of it, thanks to his Jotun anatomy. And Mobius wouldn't have had asked him to tag along. He didn't want Loki to tag along, knowing what heat could do to his body, hadn't Ravonna insisted they needed Loki's 'unique perspective' regarding the Variant they were trying to catch. Not a Loki Variant this time, but still a dangerous Variant who, according to the Time Keepers, posed as a threat to the Sacred Timeline.
But if Mobius were to be honest with himself, he knew they'd hit a dead end. They should just head back to the TVA now, plus, Loki needed to be out of here -- the heat -- the sooner, the better.
"Let's go check in that bar," Hunter D-90 said, just when Mobius was about to suggest they called it a day. "Could be something,"
Mobius wanted to protest, though the team seemed to be agreeing with the Hunter. He glanced at Loki, who didn't look promising, though at least he appeared to be... tolerating it. "We'll make it quick," Mobius said, mostly to Loki. "Then we're heading back to the TVA,"
"Whatever you say," Loki mumbled, already heading towards the bar. At least in there, they could have a shelter of sorts, shielding them from the sun. They could maybe order a couple drinks even. Mobius sighed softly, then followed his team inside.
~~~
The bar was crowded and noisy, full of sweat and drunken bodies chatting, laughing and yelling about whatever. It wasn't Mobius's type of go-to places, when he felt like having a drink, and Mobius knew it wasn't Loki's either. But they weren't here to hangout and get wasted. Better focus on why they were here.
(Though deep down, Mobius knew they weren't going to find anything that could lead to the Variant in this shithole, or if the Variant was here, there wasn't going to be any trace left behind that they could find, considering how... chaotic the place was)
