"You're going to take her out again?" With her arms crossed over her chest, Carrie's eyes were wide as she stared at Lindsey intently.

"She's my wife." He tossed his hands out to his sides as he stayed sitting on the leather sofa in his home studio.

Rolling her eyes, she shifted all her weight from one foot to the other. "Where are you taking her?" She then wondered.

Creasing a brow, Lindsey shrugged his shoulders. "Wherever she wants to go." He was getting a little annoyed with her... It wasn't her business. "Why does it matter to you, anyway?"

She scrunched up her nose, not at all enthused with that response. "Well..." she scoffed, "Because it just matters." She mumbled in a dull tone.

"Carrie, that's my wife." He repeated, not exactly sure why she didn't understand that part... People normally go places with their spouses, they had just been an exception for a couple of years.

"Whateve-" she was just getting ready to tell him that she didn't care when her words were cut short.

"Lindsey?" Stevie's voice rang down the hallway, causing instant silence to wash over the room. "Lindsey?" She repeated as she headed towards the studio door.

His jaw settled as his eyes burned into Carries blue orbs from across the room. "I'm in here, Steph." He cocked his head to the side, silently telling the nanny to find something else to do... They looked too suspicious.

With her reading glasses perched on the bridge of her nose, she found herself in the open doorway a moment later. "One of the mother's from your hockey team just called," she announced, glancing up from the stack of mail, only to wrinkle her brows when she did. "Everything okay?" She asked, eyes melting right into Carries, who was standing close to the desk.

Nodding her head quickly, she shrugged, almost like it wasn't as awkward as it looked. "I was just asking if Lindsey was planning on picking the kids up from school, or if I was getting them today." Her voice was slightly edgy- she was still a little upset with him.

"Oh..." Stevie nodded softly, finding no reason to assume that was a lie, even though it was definitely was. "We can get the kids together?" Her brown orbs wandered back to her husband, who had been pretty quiet since she'd trailed in.

Smirking softly, Lindsey nodded his head in agreement. "That sounds good." He really liked that... He really liked that she was trying- it made him feel closer to her in many ways.

Looking into those deep blue eyes, Stevie couldn't help but smile as well. "What are you working on?" She wondered, wrapping her silk robe around herself tighter as she ventured further into the room.

She was still in a pale pink pajama set, and a pair of slippers, as her long blonde hair laid in natural curls traveling down her back. She was beautiful, even with no makeup and sleepy eyes.

"Here's this new one." He slid over on the sofa, patting the empty seat next to him for her to sit. "I just have the cords for the beginning of this one, but..." he lingered for a moment, looking over at her as she got comfortable. "But I need some lyrics." He added, watching as her lips turned up instantly.

"Lyrics?" She teased, scanning over the messy sheet music. "I have lots of lyrics." She half chuckled, crossing one leg over the other.

With a soft nod, he also laughed a tad. "I have really missed my musical partner." Lindsey assured, watching her side profile intently.

He loved her, always, even on the hard days, but he really loved her in moments like that. She was a perfect woman with a couple of minor flaws.

Turning her head to the side, she bit down on her lower lip. "Maybe we should..." she shrugged a shoulder, not sure if it was a great idea or not. "Maybe we should try writing one together?" She knew that it was kind of a stretch, but she was willing to try it.

They hadn't worked together in a long time, not just the two of them. They were both in the band, of course, but they had spent a lot of time planning out a schedule that ensured that they were only there for a short, brief time together... It made life easier for everyone involved.

"I would really like that." He leaned down, grabbing a couple more pieces of loose paper off the floor to show her. "There are these ones too, so it's up to you." He used one hand to pass them over, while the other hand, out of old habit, traveled around her waist to the small of her back.

It was the thud of a broom hitting the hardwood floor that caused Stevie to push herself up off the couch. "I'm so sorry." Holding up a hand, Carrie tried to calm her down as she picked it up.

She didn't like how close they had gotten, and without really thinking about it, she decided to split them up the only way she knew how... Frighten Stevie.

"Oh, you're fine, honey." She waved a hand lightly as set the sheet music down on the coffee table. "We can talk about it later, Lindsey." Stevie added, sliding her glasses to the top of her head as she ventured back to the door.

Swallowing hard, Lindsey stood up as well. "You can go ahead and get the kids, Carrie." He raised a brow as he grabbed his cup of coffee off the table. "I'm gonna see if Stevie wants to go out a little earlier." Annoyed was an understatement- he was pissed.

She had no right to do that... None.

"I-"

"Back off." He warned.

Standing in the bathroom doorway, Lindsey watched as his wife sat up in bed, staring down at her book. "What are you reading?" He wondered, flicking off the light as he headed for the bed.

Turning it around, she flashed the cover. "Poetry," she smiled softly as she tossed her reading glasses onto the nightstand.

"Poetry?" Crawling up the bed, his eyes stayed locked with hers.

"Mhmm," she smirked, setting her book down as he hovered over her.

He didn't say anything for a long moment- instead his eyes just scanned over her face. "Dance with me?" Lindsey asked with a little smile.

Tossing her head back against the headboard, she laughed softly. "Dance with you?" She thought that was hilarious... He hadn't asked her to dance since their wedding.

But when his feet hit the hardwood floor, he held out a hand for her... He was being serious. "I think you look far too beautiful to just go to sleep right now." He shrugged lightly as that sweet grin stayed glued on his handsome face.

Taking his hand in hers, she crawled out of bed as well.  "It's been a long time." She whispered, wrapping one around his shoulders as his slid around her waist.

Swaying back and forth, his index finger left little circles on the small of her back. "I love you."

With her head resting on his chest, she allowed her nails to trail up and down his arm in a soft, slow manner. "I love you more."
